Hi VJ members, I have called us embassy in manila and they don't have my case just yet but they did tell me how to go on the website for the packet 3. On the site it states to bring 3 photos to the interview which I understand. But then it gets tricky from there. I know my fiancé has to do the medical at St. Lukes and in the procedure it states you must bring 4 photos which 3 of them are going to the embassy.

So how many photos my fiancé needs to have lol ? Is it 4 photos and they will pass 3 of the photos to embassy for the interview or she needs to have 7 total?

Thanks

Sounds about right, but I didn't count. I jjust went into overkill mode and advised Candy to bring 5 to each of them. This way she is guaranteed to have enough, and it is one fewer thing to worry about. Photos are cheap and easy to carry. Bring 5 to each event and guaranteed no problem from it.

PS: If you have long hair, tie is back so your ears are clearly visible. I heard St. Luke's is very insistent about that.

You will only need to submit the 4 pictures during the medical. SLEC will forward the rest of the pictures to the embassy. But if you have extras, just bring them to the interview as well.

Also, just to give you a heads-up, there will be some vendors aside the US embassy offering to take your pictures. They will try to sell it by saying the embassy needs new ones, don't buy it. Remember the embassy has your digital photo from DS-160 in their database too.

Does the embassy photo the applicant bring have to be an exact match for the electronic one? (Same person, don't worry about that.)

The reason I ask is that Candy's old photos had her hair covering her ears partly. That was the one we used for the DS-160. St. Lukes said this is a big no-no. They want the hair pulled back and the entire ears showing. So I told Candy to get new ones, which she did.

But she used the old one for the DS-160. So should she be ready with more of those in case they want an exact match for the DS-160? Or does it not matter as long as it is clearly the same person?

I don't think the embassy would mind that the pictures used for DS-160 is different from the ones they got from medical.

As long as all facial features are visible in the submitted pictures, it should be fine. This will also be the picture affixed on the visa itself, btw.
