Randys a twit but I like he did try to email the embassy. Please do some research and google some stuff.

Try stuff like look at your country or the region of that world and see if there are Congressman or Senators that go there on fact finding tours or simillar stuff like that. There are reason they do this.

good idea

Texas senior US Senator is Cornyn. I am thinking he may be the best bet as he is also running for reelection but I hate the RINO so I don't know what contacts he has.

Not at all. I had a somewhat complicated case and I went through hell for 30 months during the immigration process. And there was no AP involved in my wife's case. IMO, writing to all of those Congressmen is a waste of time. Your Senior US Senator is the one you want to contact. Call his office and get some info. He may even have someone who handles immigration issues. They will tell you the procedure to follow and what information they want. Again, IMO, you are writing for your life, you need more than a paragraph. The finest thing I have written thus far in my life is the letter I wrote to Senator Kennedy and backing it up with supporting evidence and documentation. I still dig it out once in a while to show someone.

I meant US Senator in my previous post, not state senator. Sorry.

Yes Cruz I am thinking of also as he is posturing for a run at the Presidency but he is so new that I doubt he has contacts but I am thinking he may have the better constituent services. For sure more google and research is needed.

A.J. is giving you great advice Janelle. Instead of going all over the place please spend a good amount of time and research until you get sick of it.

Cruz, okay. Maybe he has a good constituent services office, depends on how well he staffed it. Google it. Or give his office a call. Personally, I hate email.

Kris Robles also used to be with Hutchison. Hutchison was a very powerful and good Senator so this guy is very experienced. Nice find.

You are right but the contacts are important. I do know that Congressman and Senators usually specialize in certain region and even countries and that is what I am looking for. If they have the contacts in that area they can do more than send an email and get results. This is what I am trying to get Janelle to do. Unfortunately I have no ideas about Sri Lanka. This is why I want her to google and research until al possibilities are exhausted. Once targets are acquired then go and attack.

I think you are wasting your time writing to every Tom, ####### and Harry. You have to be like a sniper, make every shot count. Most US senators have a staff or staff member who deals with immigration issues.

Max seems to me a bit weak but Cornyn is a powerful Senator.

I'll stick to my guns and say that the first person to contact is your senior US Senator. And I would call and ask if they have someone who handles immigration issues. I speak from experience. An experience I wish I could forget. And again, writing one paragraph about missing your husband isn't going to cut it. Again, IMO, and no intent to be critical, just helpful.
