Do some googling, find out who has the better constituent liaison services office. Your Congressman, or either of your two senators.

Every state has 2 and they both represent the whole state. Senator Cornyn and Ted Cruz are our Senators.

AJ is right though. It is all about the contacts. Ron Paul who was my Congressman used to perform wonders and get even denials approved from most any spot in the world but he is gone now. I am trying to determine the best place for you to zero in on. The scatter method can cause more harm then help though. You need to focus on the ones that can help you the most.

Can you please say what you do when you contact these Congressmen? Do you send all info they wil need to help you? How do you contact them?

I have not. How do I know which one is my district?

Randy's office did email the embassy but they just gave them the generic AP response.

Randys a twit but I like he did try to email the embassy. Please do some research and google some stuff.

Try stuff like look at your country or the region of that world and see if there are Congressman or Senators that go there on fact finding tours or simillar stuff like that. There are reason they do this.

Not at all. I had a somewhat complicated case and I went through hell for 30 months during the immigration process. And there was no AP involved in my wife's case. IMO, writing to all of those Congressmen is a waste of time. Your Senior US Senator is the one you want to contact. Call his office and get some info. He may even have someone who handles immigration issues. They will tell you the procedure to follow and what information they want. Again, IMO, you are writing for your life, you need more than a paragraph. The finest thing I have written thus far in my life is the letter I wrote to Senator Kennedy and backing it up with supporting evidence and documentation. I still dig it out once in a while to show someone.

I meant US Senator in my previous post, not state senator. Sorry.
