Hi guys, i finally got my electronic processing case number and ready to submit the documents to NVC (for china embassy), but just want to confirm a few items below as i think some of the process was changed. I know some of those may be asked in the past but really appreciate your help. Thank you

AOS Email

1) I should attach each document SEPARATE (with the correct file name), NOT together as 1 PDF, is that correct? Many of the past posts here sent them as 1 PDF but according to NVC they should all be separate PDFs now.

2) Below is everything I need, since i am already providing the tax return transcript i am NOT sending in tax return or W2s, is that fine?

a) AOS Bill coverletter barcode (1 pdf file)

b) My own coverletter listing the documents (1 pdf file)

c) 2011, 2012, 2013 IRS tax transcript (3 pdf file)

d) Employment letter (1 pdf file)

e) 3 most recent paystubs (1 pdf file?)

d) i-864 (1 pdf file)

DS-260

1) Log online and complete the DS-260 form online

2) Submit all required documents / photos - I havent got that far yet, i am assuming after you complete the DS-260 online it will have a way for you to upload those documents?

I prefer submitting all the AOS package as a single PDF file. Some people are unable to do it that way, so they will accept separate PDF's. If you submit one file, I recommend they appear in the order I've rearranged them above.

An employer letter is not required if you're sending pay stubs with year to date earnings shown. Your cover letter listing the documents is also not required, but neither will cause any problem.

Hi pushbrk, thanks for the reply. I prefer to ship as 1 PDF as well but according to the NVC website they must be separate files, is that not true? can anyone who done it recently confirm 1 PDF still works. Thanks

Group A: Electronic >> Email scanned forms and documents
If your case is processing as part of Group A (see Table 1 above), then you must submit all forms, civil documents, and financial evidence to the NVC by email. To submit by email, you must scan the document to create Portable Document Format (PDF) files. You must save each file with a name that includes your NVC case number, the full name of the applicant whose form or document was scanned, and the name of the form or document – below are examples of file naming
(case number_name_document/form)

  • ABC2009123456_John_Doe_I864.pdf
  • ABC2009123456_Jane_Doe_Birth_Certificate.pdf

How many documents can I put in each scan file?

Create a separate file for each document, including all of its pages and both sides of double-sided documents. Do not include multiple documents in any scan file.

Yes, I'm telling you that even today, they will accept the civil documents or AOS documets all in one PDF file. However, it is your choice. It might be their preference to have them separate, in which case, doing it that way may well get them reviewed more quickly. When you combine them, they must scroll through and identify where one document ends and the next begins, then keep track of what they have and don't have as applicable.

Previously, they required them all in one file, but because many didn't have the software to combine them, they accepted them separately. Perhaps they've found it easier for them that way.
