Greetings,

I'm worried I caused a problem, and we would like some feedback from the VJ professionals. Here's the sequence of events so far.

1. Got the GUZ casefile # from NVC.

2. Sent the DS-261

3. Paid AoS fee

4. Paid the IV Fee

5. Submitted ENROLL with required info to nvcelectronic@state.gov per http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/how-to-submit-documents-to-the-nvc.html#GroupB

It's been two weeks since we enrolled with electronic filing and haven't gotten the GZO casefile number yet. Thoughts?

Sent I-130 - 4/2/13

NOA1 - 4/9/13

RFE - 12/21/13

NOA2 - 2/28/14

NVC - 4/23/14

Notice of 60 day delay - 8/1/14

Case Complete - 9/19/14

Interview Date - 10/27/14

So now it's been nearly 4 weeks since we sent the ENROLL email to get the stinking email. Here's a concern;

According to the state departments website, the instructions to enroll or opt-in to electronic processing has been to add this to the subject line;

ENROLL GUZ12346789

I see others preaching to do the following:

OPTIN GUZ12346789

Is the reason why it's taking ages for us to get our GZO case number?

OPTIN is the old method.

ENROLL is the new method, and changed up earlier in the year.

many folk report delay this season, 3 to 4 weeks, even 5 weeks, on conversion from GUZ to GZO.

IMO, something is busted (again) at NVC for EP for China.

I only suggest to call into NVC, get a supervisor, and hammer on them a bit.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

It's a relief to know we're not the only ones. Also, thanks for confirming that I shouldn't have used OPTIN for the enrollment email!

I just spoke with a Tier 1 NVC phone assistant, asking her when we can expect our GZO case number. She said we don't need to wait for it any longer for electronic processing, and we can expect to keep the GUZ case number!

I was reluctant to believe it because I was never notified by email so I checked the website and the requirements did in fact change.

Big news for Chinese immigrants!

i dunno --really -- as

this is a change-up and IMO the instructions on the state.gov website are wrong - the edit between last version and this did NOT keep the GZO stuff and OPTIN instructions.

The email system is bogged down because of a changeover in back-end tools that read/parse the email - so to try to keep up - humans have been doing the reading/reviewing/clicking/data entry whilst waiting for the vendor to fix their shoddy email parsing system.

With that said - I suggest you talk with a NVC Supervisor and ask about EP for Guangzhou and ask about the ENROLL process and ask about the GZO Number conversion.

The first human that answers the phone is a poorly trained SERCO contractor ...

It seems I may have been mis-informed, because I just got the GZO case number. My wife and I completed and sent the AoS and DS-260 on friday referencing the GUZ case number as we were told.

How screwed are we?

It turns out that we aren't screwed. The GUZ and GZO case numbers are linked.

The enrollment into electronic processing occurred when we sent the first email attachments for I-864EZ
