Ok since I just got done working and all settled down here are a few links.

Enjoy reading and I can and will be more than happy to post more.

Oh and there are links I could post of other races that are also Libertarians. My advice is to not only see there are some but to go and read articles and some even have sites and publishing's that are really good reading. Now I personally read all viewpoints and study and not just what I believe in and I hope some will do the same. It is a common courtesy.

Good luck In a libertarian environment everybody is equal under the law. No special set asides, no quotas Achieve on your own merit and the content of your character not the color of your skin.

The rights that I fight for are for everyone regardless of who you are. The Fair Housing Act does allow one to discriminate on the basis of character.

That is true.

Yeah but you guys are assuming people are good enough to police themselves. The point of a lot of these laws is to create an equal playing field when one did not exist before. AA was implemented because minorities weren't being given equal opportunities. A result of "let society figure it out"

Please, I've yet to receive this plethora of free stuff I get for voting democrat.

Nothing further from the truth.

Sorry Texan, when slavery and segregation ended, it wasn't like Family Guy. They weren't cool after that. You talking about a little bit over 300 years of "hard feelings". This wasn't just the law of the land, it was a way of life. A mindset. One that's still floating around to this day.

300 years of "hard feelings" huh? And the party that kept it that way and still does is the party that has the control of blacks votes. Unless you read and try to understand the other side and not just the party that "says" they have your best interest at heart then there is no discussion is there? I expected more from at least a man that can convert his religion. Take care brother.

So, you think the GOP has nothing to do with this? When do they reach out? Or are we talking about Libertarians?

I have no knowledge of them. If you're willing to share some information, I'm always willing to learn.

I already did. You seemed to not even have tried to go and learn. I am not going to talk or engage with closed minds. It is ridiculous to do so as we will not get anywhere. I will not fault anyone for staying where they are comfortable.

I can't open those links from this office. My computer blocks certain sites if they're not sure about it.

I'm a very open minded individual. I thought this discussion was about AA. If you're talking about something else, I'll do the research first then add my 02.

Although Marvin is as opinionated as any other...I for 1, don't consider him to be a "close minded" man. I have several instances which he and I found common ground having started at opposite ends.

IMO - Sometimes passionate conviction gets misinterpreted. & sometimes it makes a person myopic. & I think most of us can be myopic here and there. (but) Myopia does not automatically = Close Minded.

OK fair enough. My hopes are restored. It was but as usual in this place it started veering off into us nasty Libertarians and I put some links a few black Libertarians. I thought an open minded person may go and try and see why they would have a belief that seems to an important voting bloc so different. Larry Eder is on there and he is maybe the easiest to read and understand though so maybe start with him and branch out from there. Warning though a couple of them are maybe too hard to grasp and I found reading "The Republic" by Plato easier. (I am not kidding) Just glance at them.

As a note 7% of ALL voters are Libertarian and another 15% lean toward that way. I am among the 15%. And to answer your question, no the Republican party is lost. They are really nothing more than Democrats. They are the party of Lincoln though and I can assure you that no KKK will ever vote for the party of Lincoln. I actually know this for a fact. Quite a few Democrats are in Congress because they have their backing.

He and I have found common ground also at times. My sadness came from what I saw as a flippant response. I am still waking up and the coffe maybe hasn't kicked in. Apologize for my response to Marvin if he was engaging me truthfully.

I have no ill will against libertarians because I don't know anything about them. Do you mean Larry Elder?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Elder

It's cool, I found it weird that you were shutting down so early. You usually try to engage in some sort of debate. But, I think my first remarks came across wrong. So my apologies as well.

Here's what bothers me. I think the percentage leaning Libertarian would be much, much higher if people knew anything about it. I think the vast majority of people would find a lot they like about the ideas if they were able to study them without any preconceived notions of how awful the ideas are.
