wow I'm kinda confused now :/ I can't renew my passport as of now cause I have other papers on process and I use my single name and that process won't be done anytime soon (its for an exam and the only valid ID they accept is the passport) I think I might try and get NBI with AKA.Thank you for all the anwers.

Get an extra NBI with all the AKA names as USEM will ask for one as well. Plus USEM will ask for a CENOMAR (CEMAR)

When you renew your passport they will return your old passport as well.

I had a mistake in putting my other nickname in the AKA part coz I misunderstood the question.i thought AKA is another term for alias.i shouldn't put any name there coz I never changed my name but I am planning to get a new one wothout aka.will that be okay or I will have problem in my interview? I'm so worried

Hi, I also have mistake in my nbi cause when I fill up the NBI form I thought I can now write my married name in last name so I did. Then I put my maiden name in AKA but I didn't notice that there's is a place there for my husband last name and it turn out that my maiden name is not in the nbi clearance when I get it. So that's why I also get confused in that AKA...

Here is the new NBI now

when I filled up mine I also did that but the nbi officer who encoded my apps edited my mistake but never mentioned that I should put a correct name on the AKA part coz I only put 2 letters and didn't tell me what I did was a mistake coz that's also optional.

AKAs are used usually when there was a change in your name in the birth cert. The maiden name is not put in the aka.

We are on NVC stage of our i-130 application and were going to send the AOS package soon. Is it ok that my NBI clearance (Philippines) is written on my married name and my passport is my maiden name?

What name did you use in filing? The name in your i-130 should match those in the docs. I think it's better if you renew your passport first. So you could use your married name for the remaining process.. Just my cent..

for future references: We have contacted NVC and they told me for them its not a problem that my passport is in my maiden name and nbi clearance is in my married name according to them they do understand that I am married and they consider bother name (married and single)

But when I contacted Manila Embassy thru e-mail they told me that all names used including those that are on the birth certificate, marriage contract, maiden should be included in the NBI clearance. I sent my previous Nbi clearance without the AKA to NVC and I was able to obtain another one with my AKA (maiden name) on it that I will be bringing on the interview just incase they ask. My civil documents are currently under review ar Nvc I'm hoping that the info I got was correct and they will accept the nbi I sent.

The embassy will also ask for a new CENOMAR (CEMAR)

For NBI clearance, won't they ask additional document if you have AKA? I also have my NBI in my married name. 3 surnames are there, my maiden middle name, my maiden surname and my husband's surname so I think AKA is not needed because the maiden name is there also..

You must do the NBI with the AKA for your maiden name, don' get it that way you will get a 221g and more delays

Yea they are shown there but the instructions I got from the e-mail wasn't clear enough for me, I don't want to take chances and I don't want delays cause its been 14months since we started this process. They told me they will need a request from the embassy so they can put the AKA but in my case I was able to get one with the AKA. It might not be nessary you are right but just to be sure.
