I have been up in the air about the interview for my fiancé. I haven't yet schedule a interview but the paperwork is on its way to the embassy in Manila and should be there in 2 days. My concern is that I have read different post about interviews with most having great success but its the ones with not so good success that gets your mind racing. It seems if the petitioner can go to the interview your chances are greater of getting a approval but there are so many fees that are coming up and trying to get the funds to go to the interview will be hard cause it will delay a ticket for her to come to the USA. She has everything she needs already as we prepared a lot upfront from me reading everyday about other people post and forms etc. She has cenomar, nbi, police record, passport, etc. All that is left for me is to print out the Affidavit of support (which is already filled out) and my 2013 tax return along with sending original documents that I sent for my petition.

I guess my question to rest my state of mind is that as long as she has everything in order and answer the questions properly then she should have no problems getting a approval right? I just hate to get all the way to the finish line and then get tripped before she get the approved visa flag :) . Has anyone that is a K1 have stories they can share with me that everything with ok with their fiancé at the interview when she was by herself?

Thanks

I was by myself at the interview. ( I was the beneficiary of the K1 Visa ) . My interview didn't take longtime, only a few question was asked. The american consul didn't even ask me to show her proof of our relationship. The Filipino consul asked to see pictures tho, but that's it.

Rule of Thumb for me when I took the interview:

1. As long as your relationship is true, you will be able to answer all the questions with ease and confidence

2. As long as basically met/submitted all the requirement for the K1 visa, then interview will be fine.

3. Show up at the Embassy prepared, with a right amount of proof of your relationship when needed.

Otherwise, having the petitioner there is not really necessary.

Goodluck!

Unless you have a really marginal case where the petitioner is needed there to put her over the top, it is really not necessary. I won't be going. The big day is May 20th. I just don't have another $1500 to fly me there. As it is I have to fly her here, pay for a wedding and cough up a grand to pay for the AOS.
