My wife lives in Manila, I'm a U.S citizen. We have approval of her I-130 visa and we are considering using "Rapid Visa" to help her us with the NVC process. At the interview is it frowned upon if you get outside help like this?

Also has anyone use "Rapid Visa"

I haven't used any agency. Frankly speaking agencies don't do much. They prepare documents for you but you yourself have to fill it up, resend it to them, and they mail it. Some people get a lawyer if they have numerous red flags but even then people here in VA just use the guides and it saved us thousand of dollars and time too. Being with an agency is not frowned upon nor is it necessary. It doesn't necessarily make your visa be approved faster than the others also.

You can use them if you like. You're basically paying them to fill out paperwork, and probably not particularly well. You could just as easy do it yourself. There is no benefit to having them do it.

Having them do it will not in any way speed up the time it takes to get a visa.

I am using RapidVisa in hopes they would better guide us through the process. This forum has been more assistance than RapidVisa.

They did put together our documents, verify them and mail them in after I put them all together. I have asked questions, yes quick responses but very vague in detail. I have had to ask the same questions two or three times to get the appropriate response and that was just verifying what I had already learned on VJ.

Peace of mind for the original submission I am glad I used them. But I did but all leg work and the progress made so far has been me reading the VJ website and following what other people are saying. I was more hoping they would be proactive in guiding more towards the interview that is just not happening either.

Good luck and if doing it on your own pay attention to the details!

Using a "3rd party" for help is not frowned upon. For most, it is a wast of honey, money! You can do it yourself. And, if needed, you can always ask any questions here and get the assistance you need. But, again, if you have the honey money and feel the need, go for it!

Best of luck!

The documents for the NVC stage are pretty straight-forward and easy to do yourself. Unless its a matter of convenience or special concern on your particular case--you don't need an agency to help. As others have pointed out, the agency will prepare the forms--but YOU still have to populate the information.

Nobody here actually knows anything about the OP or their spouse's capabilities, so to say they can just as well do it on their own, is pure speculation. Not all agencies, lawyers, or consultants work the same. If you want a professional to pro-actively manage the process, seek one out that works that way. The client should not be the ones "filling out" the forms, IMO. That defeats the purpose of hiring a professional.

I commonly wonder where people get this idea, when they haven't actually hired anybody. Yes, some make you fill out forms and then they only check them over and make sure all requirements have been included. To me, yes, that's pretty useless. Assuming that's how all immigration professional work, would be simply "inaccurate".

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
