Hello I have a question for Susie QQQ,

I am undertaking a change in my name, I am actually adding a middle name to my primor name. It is something that i always wanted to do but since there is a great chance that i'll be off to the US I just accelerated the procss.

The process will be finished by the time before the interview.

Will that hinder my chances of getting the green card ?

It shouldn't, just ensure that you bring all relevant documentation about the name change with to the interview, so that they can match it up with the entry and supporting documents.

Probably not, but be sure to bring evidence of all the above to prove it is actually the same wife.

Hello,

I am a F1 student residing in Los Angeles and I have been selected for the DV2015 lottery... I have some questions still bothering me even if I spoke to KCC and USCIS on the phone, plus a couple local immigration lawyers. I need some extra reassurance.

I understand that this year is a requirement for every applicant (whether going through consular process or uscis) to fill out the online form DS-260. My questions about this are, since I selected I want to take my interview in the US, when I submit the DS260 my forms will be transferred to USCIS, right? Do I need to check with USCIS if I am eligible to adjust status first? I called them about it and they said I am fine filing for adjustment, but did not ask me any case-specific questions... I only said I was on a F1 visa.

If I just submit the DS160 and my case goes to USCIS, it is my understanding that I won't receive any more notifications, is this correct? I only have to wait until my number becomes current?

Oh there is one more question about this, the adjustement fee... when does it need to be paid? When you submit the DS260 or when it gets closer to the interview date or when the number becomes current?

Thanks so much! But I am freaking out and it is confusing to get clear answers...

Oh and since I am here, I also want to ask when do you think I will get an interview based on my number 2015EU00019XXX ?

The poster above me is correct, if you are part of DV2015 you have missed out as the DV2015 fiscal year has ended and no more DV2015 visas/green cards can be issued. Or did you make a mistake and you are actually DV2016?

(It's also confusing as you list your country as India, but India is ineligible for the lottery, yet you have an EU case number.)

Maybe one of his parents has EU nationality. I believe you can claim the nationality of the parents, something like that.

In very limited and rare circumstances. Anyway she seems to have disappeared along with all the contradictions, claiming F1 in LA adjusting on (possibly expired) DV and EU in the post with H1 in NY and India in the profile.
