Thanks a lot for your reply. Is this stated officially somewhere in the govt site?

adalb

Yes it is. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/diversity-visa/if-you-are-selected/prepare-supporting-documents.html

Please ensure you read the instructions thoroughly to prevent nasty surprises at interview.

hello everybody,

my wife is selected for further processing AS17XXX , so the interview is expected to be in Sep 2015 , that is a year from now.

we are currently in Lebanon and we filled the ds260 applications .

Now I want to apply for student visa to US to study for a graudate program . will this conflict with our diversity case in anyway ?

if I got the student visa will we be able to adjust status ?

Thanks

I won't lie - that's a very high CN. The highest Asian CN issued in 2013 was 10682 (that we know of).

The student visa won't conflict with DV, but DV might conflict with the student visa. It may indicate "immigration intent" to the CO. If you got the student visa you could adjust status.

You should focus on the student visa rather than DV. If you haven't submitted your DS-260, then don't. Submit your DS-260 after you get your student visa.

I was selected in DV2015 my CN AF00027*** and Im from EGYPT, could someone tell me how much chance could i get the Visa?
Also, I would like to understand the system for the DV, to make it clear my CN is AF00027*** is there same CN in Asia for example AS00027*** ?

If the answer is Yes, who will get the visa first, and is it must for both CN to get interview and visa as well or not? because I'm confused. because the visa no. is limited every year 50000 visa. Also, I would like to ask a question and i hope that someone explain this issue to me my questions is as follow:

The numbers are totally unrelated even if the same. Each region has their own series of numbers that start from 1 and go up. They each have their own quota of visas to give out. They are separate.

my questions is as follow:

waiting for the question?

My case no. Is 2015AF00024xxx , when it is expected my interview ?

Also what is the website to check my status ?

Thanks.

Check last years visa bulletin for an indication of when to expect it.

The website is the same one you got your selection letter on. You should receive an email telling you it has been updated, but even if you don't get the email it will be updated with your interview letter, usually 6-8 weeks before interview.

The website is only open for entries during the entry period...yes it will change. If you keep checking the website at some point it should update to say what the entry period for the next lottery will be.
