Hello everyone,

I have a question about cancellation of AOS.

As a matter of fact,I went to AOS interview with my husband a couple of days ago,and found out he had been lying to me for a while, when the immigration officer asked him one question.

Anyways, long story short,I was so upset and disappointed at his lie and made me feel he betrayed me for a long time.

Now I feel like divorcing or separating him.

I don't care about giving up on GC,but I cannot compromise my marriage.I wanted to make it genuine and real.

I am thinking about divorce and canceling AOS status and get back my original visa(F-1) back.

What can I do?

I hope somebody has similar experience.

Thanks

I take it you are the beneficiary and husband is USC, so it's your AoS which you can cancel, no idea if and how you can revert to your F-1 visa or now. Not sure what one is actually.

Not anything like that.Just one simple question that is even on the I-130.It's long story.I don't want to talk about the detail to avoid misunderstanding.

The point is I want to reconsider about our marriage and make visa status back to F-1.I don't know how it works. It's too weird to divorce right after visa interview.

Nobbie,

Yes you are correct.I am a beneficiary and he is a petitionary.I know it's too crazy.

I believed he would never lie to me and the ###$≤ who could do something I didn't want him to do.I am too shocked and disappointed and got lost.I don't know who else I can trust.

The answer is no.The officer apologized he couldn't approve right away because USCIS lost my I-130,so my "husband" had to refile only I-130 again. The officer said it gonna be approved in 3 weeks or so.

I pray you are okay. I'm sorry he deceived you in any way, shape or form. I'm assuming the question that was answered by answering like he did, he answered it correctly. Was is something that is worthy of you not finishing the process, or divorcing him? Not something you can talk through.

I'm just asking, knowing that you surely loved him to go this far and be there for the interview also.

May your heart make the right decisions for you.

Warmest Regards!

Why not just get your GC and then file for divorce? You don't need him to remove your conditions in 2 years. Just move on and leave the loser behind. Since the process is about to finish, you may as well get the GC and move on with your life.

I completely agree with that! After all why complicating YOUR life? Take the easiest way FOR YOU. Go on with the GC, and slam this loser with a divorce right after you received your GC! You will have plenty of time to go get a lawyer and sort this out after you get your GC. Acting now while you are still angry may lead you to make the wrong decision and regret it afterwards.

I know how it feels the same thing happened to me ( among other blessings), Cool down, YOUR best move at this point might be to NOT move at all NOW.

Hang in there. Revenge is a dish best served COLD.

Get your GC... Divorce then you can persue what you want without having to deal with change of status, more $$$ for visas etc... I agree with others, why should HIS lies cost YOU time, money and paperwork... You entered into the marriage in good faith, that was broken, so move on if this lie is truly a "deal maker".

Thank you for ur comment.

You are absolutely right.

I might get just too upset with something in the past.It was not fatal lie like not telling me he was married or he had kids or anything like that.

Since I really believed him 100%,I completely lost my temper at the moment.

I will try to calm down w/o jumping into conclusion from my current anger.

Thank you for ur advice!
