Hello everyone ,

I checked my visa application status a few days ago on the CEAC WEBSITE and it said that my case was in transit to the Santo Domingo embassy, so today i went to check it again and it says : Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html

was my interview scheduled already? we called some numbers today ,but, they said they didn't have any info yet .... we are confused! what should we do from now on? my fiance is coming to the D.R this sunday and he will be here until thursday , how long should we wait to call again and find out if we were scheduled or not?

your response will be greatly appreciated :)

Wait for a week or 2 and call the embassy again to check if your physical file is at the embassy. Then you can schedule your interview and get your medical exam done :)

I was doing my own research and saw that this link http://santodomingo.usembassy.gov/scheduled_appointments.html has all of the scheduled appointments (which is updated constantly). You can do a search for your specific case number and see if it is scheduled and when. If it is not on the list then it may not be scheduled yet. I also saw that you can all a VISA specialist at the US Dept of State, but I do not know the current phone number for that. The old number I saw was 202-663-1225.

Based off of what I read, I believe the Dominican Republic embassy will schedule the interview for you (* which currently seems like a couple of months out*) and it may be that they will send the letter with your interview date about a month from your interview date (based on my research here on the site).

Also on this page http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Dominican+Republic&cty=Santo+Domingo it says that the embassy schedules the interview. So the wait begins ... :(

Hi reggie, yes ! as far as i know the santo domingo embassy will schedule our interview( i hope the wait time is not too long) i think that page with the scheduled appointments is a little outdated and it's pretty hard to find your case # . yes , there is a visa specialist number you can call, we called yesterday and they told us that they no longer provide the interview dates :s we were advised to wait til we get the nvc letter with the instructions and call back within 2-3 weeks . (bah)

that last link you attached is pretty helpful, I love it! i read it every once in a while

PS: our timelines are so similar that i'm starting to believe we will get the same interview date :P

you need to wait one month to e-mail the consulate and ask for your appoinment date.

now they dont have information for you.

one thing is sure you will have tyour interview in 4 months.

so relax and preper all the papers that you need.

to do the medical exam you need the appoinment letter that the consulate will send to the beneficiary.

with the appoinment letter you pay at banco popular and do the medical exam.

wait one month and e-mail the consulate, they will answer in 2 bussines days.

e-mail is the best way to get informations

So how is it that we can check if our paperwork is in transit to Dominican consulate???

After you get your noa2, you can wait 14 bussines days and call to nvc, to see if they asign you a case number.

The number start with sdo....

With this number you go to ceac check visa status, you type your case number and you can see if your case is at nvc still or in transit to consulate.

When the case arrives to the consulate the status says ready.

After that you wait one month to e-mail the consulate to see if they have asigned an interview date.

Knowing your interview date the beneficiary can be waiting the packet 4,it is an intructions letter that the consulate send to the beneficiary to make the medical exam and pay at banco popular with this later.

If packet 4 dont arrive, one month before the interview you can e-mail the consilate and they will e-mail it, the beneficiary print it and can do the medical exam and pay at banco popular.

I hope help with this information. :)
