Ok.... so things I would miss about America...

I am in the south... now despite the stereotypical redneck trailer images we might have, the people in the south are Awesome. My car broke down once and I had about 20 cars stop to see if they could help me. Some even stayed with me until my husband got there. This never happened to me in England.

I love the vast space. Fields, countryside, greenery. The flat plains of the delta bluff is breath taking.

I love the thunderstorms in America... so different compared to the storms in the UK.

I would miss grilling ALL YEAR ROUND LOL LOL!!!!! I see on FB that everyone in the UK has their grills cranked up for a weekend of sunshine this week. In the south we grill out, rain, snow, sunshine, winter, summer... who cares :dancing:

The cost of gas here compared to the UK.... Im gonna say nothing else guys!!!

The customer service in America is outstanding. Especially in restaurants and stores.

We get humming birds. Random, but true. I love humming birds!!!

Has anyone mentioned sport? Rugby Union!

Is that, that game played by men with odd shaped balls?

Thank you, goodnight and may your gods go with you",

Rugby is pretty inclusive, you don't need deformed testicles to play :-)

I didn't mean it was a backward move, I meant stuff we have been doing in Europe for years (wearing seatbelts for example) seem to take w long time to get done over here.

I noticed a lot more people in Europe smoke and burn themselves to a crisp. That is something that America has been ahead on, my Danish mother in law is the only person I've seen smoke her entire visit. The Danish dermatologist I saw said it was very frustrating that Danes weren't skin cancer aware like Americans and Australians. Each country moves forward with different things at their own pace.

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

I don't smoke and I do not (intentionally) burn myself to a crisp. I just have a propensity to go from pale to lobster in under 20 minutes, if the sun is out.

Had a friend recently come over to the US for our "wedding" 2 weeks ago, inher suitcase was:

3 tinned Heinz sponge puddings! (chocolate, and treacle!)

4 bars of Dairy Milk

2 packets of Warburtons crumpets

1 block of lard!!( to make Yorkshire puddings)

2 Warburtons seeded batch loafs!

2 packets of wine gums

I'm struggling a little here in VA, not with food just with life in general :(

I'm in VA too. If you're close to a Wegmans... specifically, the Wegmans in Gainesville.... you will find everything on your list except for the Warburtons. But if you ask they'll try to get it for you. :)

For me, Florida was the worst to try to find my items or suitable replacements. But now I'm in NoVA and I can get pretty much everything I need/miss. As mentioned, Wegmans is great for a ton of items. Also check other products because they do bring in a lot of Canadian items which are comparable to the British. World Market has some items as well. If you live close to the Canadian border you can get pretty much everything British there, as well as being able to sit in a pub and hear the Scottish and Irish and English accents all around you. That always makes me happy.

I've only been here about 6 months and I already love the food, so much junk food, such amazing Mexican food and THE BEST PIZZA ever.

That and NYC is just incredible, everyday feels like a dream.

I do find myself exercising more though, its so easy to be overwieight here...

Oh. Be careful of the Cadbury's chocolates here. Turn them over and make sure they're not made by Hershey. Boy, was that a surprise.

I agree, double check label!!

Hershey's choc actually tastes like vomit, yuck!
