I am preparing the AOS and want to be extremely careful and avoid any possibility of a delay.

I am a PhD student and have a guaranteed salary each year that is under the 125% poverty line (17k/yr). However, there is the possibility (not guarantee) of summer employment worth around 6k, putting me over the required 20k.

To further complicate things, I have been under a fellowship for the last 2 years (for which I make much more money and forego the 17k/yr for teaching) and have a year remaining on it. I can submit a signed document to this effect.

My tax forms for the last 3 years are all over the required 20k 125%.

I am a little concerned only because after the fellowship runs out my university can only guarantee the 17k/yr starting in May, though I will probably in practice be making around 23k and their letter can say this.

Can someone advise me exactly how such a situation may be dealt with?
