So.. my wife has been loving the new cosmos series (much to my amazement and happiness).. Though Dr. Tyson has really been wearing the kit gloves compared to Sagan on the religion issue.. I wonder if that was something that Fox required for it to air?

Amazing fact I just learned: He was named sexiest astrophysicist alive by people magazine.. The competition must have been fierce!

kid, i thought.

kid.. yeah.. I should claim it as a typo but the T and D keys are too far to be believable. Someone else asked the same question:

These two terms are often mixed up because of the slight difference in their spelling.

The term 'kid gloves' is an expression which means that something is being handled, or will need to be handled, carefully. The phrase comes from the early 1800s where a physical glove was made from young lamb or goat's skin and had a very fine soft touch to them as opposed to other gloves that were made from strong leathers....

While the term 'kid gloves' is used as an expression, the term 'kit gloves' refers to physical gloves. They are used when carrying out repair work and are offered supplied within kits that include other tools to help repair any physical damages. They are often made with fine cloth which aims to keep human oil of the parts that need to be repaired.

I'll take the fall with you. I always thought it was "kit gloves" too.

That's odd you see it that way. I've been watching it off and on a felt like they had devoted too much time to religion and its hindering of science. There were actually some really important religious (christian/muslim/hindu/buddist/taoist/etc) scientists.
