Typical NVC timeline?

I am having a hard time finding up-to-date information about how long it usually takes from NOA2 to reception by the consulate. If someone knows a good way of checking the stats on this, or cares to share their own recent experiences I'd be grateful.

It varies from what I have seen Give it a week and start calling the NVC to get your new tracking number from the DOS. You can then use the State dept site to track.

Here is a flowchart with good info. NVC can be hard to contact. you just have to keep at it.

Do people actually experiences these 5-6 week times these days? Where are these numbers coming from?

I've called every day for the last 2 weeks. They tell me they don't have the case and that it can take 5 to 6 weeks for them to receive it. I'm really hoping I get it soon, I've seen a few April filers that were approved already that have their case number already.

I would assume the numbers in the flow chart are general processing times given by those organizations.

Using mine as an example it took 13days to arrive at the NVC and then 2 days processing at the NVC and then 6 days to London. Don't forget weekends are not work days so time frames are actually a bit shorter. From what I seen it will all depend on the file and the amount that need to be moved. They don't ship out every day but wait for a batch to go.

Maybe there is a way to call USCIS to see whether they have sent out the packet to the NVC? Or to ask them what the hold-up is? It doesn't seem to make sense that some applications would be sent more quickly than others to the NVC (from the same service center) if these are really sent in batches.

I know im getting really frustrated with this. I know its still within their normal processing time but come on. Just called them...still no case #!!

j....It took approx 3 weeks from the time we received our NOA2 to getting the case #. Calling NVC was a waste of time for me. Every time I called, they referred to the NOA2 on which it stated we needed to contact the consulate/embassy where my fiancee would be interviewing at. It was like banging my head against the wall. Once I received the case # then everything can be as quick as you want it to be. Completing the DS-160 and then getting appointments is a breeze.
