  1. 1. The Chinese still know how to dream big dreams. Why has America forgotten?

    • Because we're busy collecting followers on Twitter. Priorities, man!
    • Because the fiscal conservative naysayers have killed the can-do spirit in America.
      0
    • Because liberals who love to spend have hollowed America out from the inside.

    • We still dream big. The premise of the question is false!
  2. 2. Do you like the idea of a train from mainland China to America's Pacific coast?

    • Yes, but only if it carries commercial goods only. No people.
    • Yes, but only if it carries people! People to people contact is the best bulwark against conflict.

    • No. The last thing this country needs is another way for the Chinese to send their manufactured goods and people here.

It was plain to everyone else but you. She said to TYPE IT OUT. Understand? If A.J. can't use it then why do you thing you are special enough to do so?

Oh and the Moderator lady has a name.

How in hades can typing a word out change it's meaning

CIC=Dergatory term for the President

Commander in Chief= Distinguished title of our President

Well its just that the UN uses the abbreviation, so pretty much any report related to China has the term inside it. I could see issues with that as this is the hot topic section and because the UN is sort of the law of the land its referenced often.

Do you see the conundrum?

You said UN. As I understand the new rule, you are to type out United Nations

Does this mean I might get spanked for using LOL instead of Laugh out Loud

You a ittle late. This was already clarified. Been there done that.

Ok, for clarification purposes - it is not the use of abbreviations or initials that is the problem; it is the use of a word as a label that has a derogatory or offensive meaning. Chicom, while used to identify Chinese Communists, has also taken on a separate life in today's society that refers to something that is considered worthless, cheap, shoddy and poor quality. We have members from China on this forum and we have members associated with China on this forum. The reports complained that all Chinese were being labled as part of an offensive regime, when that is not the case, and that the word itself has become offensive for its reference to cheap, poor quality. We received more than one report finding the use of this word offensive, especially in the context in which it was used. Reviewing the original post and poll, it was also apparent that the word was meant to be taken offensively - thus the edits.

Pretty much that when she posted this clarification you right after it quoted it and acknowledged it. Just take it that the memory is not what it once was.

I often quote and weigh in, with no understanding of the issue.

P.S As a plant manager, the Shipping manager reported to me.

Hats off to truck drivers. You guys are the life blood of US commerce, and most people don't realize, its a lot more than driving down the road.

One thing I always tried to ensure, was we treated them good. I always tried to get them loaded and turned around, and keep them in the loop.

I never refused a load if it was salvageable, and would always hold people over to load a truck if they were running a little late.

God Bless you all

Thanks. Driving is just a job and we are all cogs in the wheel. We all have to work together. Nice that you understand things happen and try to work with others. That is a huge help all around.

Understand about the quoting and posting. Anyway there is her clarification. The term the site wants typed out is a possible derogatory term to some and we have many from all over so we need to try to be concerned about their feelings. I personally don't think it is a big deal but not my call.

Night and take care NB. I may have been a bit testy and apologize. I somehow just ruined 2 hours work and I am mad at myself and not anyone else.
