Translation documents and interview

Hi Britsimon, Vladdek and others members !

I'm glad I found you there, I was quite lost when the old forum didn't work for few days !

Anyway, I'm back with few question for you...

1. So finally, my boyfriend and I are current in July (2014EU357***) - so happy ! But we are conducting the interview in Suva-Fiji (not in France) so we need to translate our documents. I don't want to miss something (but I don't want also to translate too many documents for nothing), also if I translate only those documents, would it be Ok:

- Diploma

- Birth certificate

- Police certificate

- Mariage certificate

Do I need to translate also our bank account certificate ? Emails/Letters proving our relationship ? Payroll ? Or it is fine like it is, in French.

2. Another question. You probably don't remember but I am the girl living in France with her boyfriend living in New Caledonia. We were supposed to marry during my vacation time at the begining of April, but due to different events (municipal election), nobody wanted/could marry us. Also right now, we are still not married. I am definitively going in New Caledonia at the end of June (can't really travel before). Anyway, we called the embassy in Suva and explained our case. They told us that wasn't a problem as long as our relationship is real. We just have to marry before the interview. But what is weird, is that they said there was no need to send updated documents to KCC, neither at the embassy. I have just to come with my boyfriend/husband the day of the interview with the certificate.

Don't you think it is a weird process ? I thought I would need to have my name on the interview letter in order to attempt the interview ... What do you think ?

Yes since you are already current no need to update to kcc.

But you will have to fillup new forms after getting married and of course take with to the interview.

documents:

- Diploma

- Birth certificate

- Police certificate

- Mariage certificate

Yes those diplomas has to be in english but not your diploma since he is the principal applicant.

I would suggest to translate the bank statment just for safety!

I don't think the emails will be needed in english, but you can always get few of them translated for safety sake of it...

Hey, I think you are really lucky to have found an embassy like that I'm sure there are others that it would be a problem for entry if your name wasn't on the interview letter, but perhaps the Fiji one is quite small so can be more flexible. Anyway, good luck with the marriage and interview !!

(If this works, I am pretty sure many people in my case would like to process the interview in Suva ! )

Worst case if they don't let you in... (Your boyfriend is winner right?) he goes in with marriage certificate and tells them you are waiting outside, then I'm sure they will call you in!

Also we called the embassy in order to change the interview date and they told us:"It's up to you, pick a date". They immediatly recognized us as we called them many times ! So we have chosen a date that will suit us, the end of July, but I never heard something like that ! I'm telling you, something is wrong with this embassy ! The process seems so easy ! And on the other forum, I heard something about "Fiji effect", meaning there is a lot of refusal at this embassy ... how come ??

Anyway yes there is lot of rtefusals in fiji but that doesn't mean there is something wrong with the embassy lol

If you have everthing ready for the interview you will be fine
