Frens help me about AOS....

My wife send AOS to NVC last week. She called NVC yesterday and asked abt the case. They told her that its under review. Likewise she asked abt the bank balance and her income needed to do sponcership.. They told she should have 19000. Her yearly average income is 16-20000$ and her bank balance is 13000$ which she wrote on that form. She stays with her family and everyone earns in her family. When she told NVC, they told her that they have seen her AOS package on 5th May and they told if any joint sponcer is needed then they will mail in 20-30 DAYS. Why cant they tell now so that we can do further process as soon as possible? And what is the actual amount to be shown in that form? Plzzz help me guys.

Based on the numbers you wrote, I would think that the income and savings would be enough...however...They told her $19,000??? That seems a little low to me. The formula they use is 125% of the poverty line of 2 people. Refer to this PDF file from the USCIS

If she (and you when you get there) live in the 48States, then she needs to show $19,662. If she is short of that for the current year, then she needs 3 times the amount she is short in assets. It looks like she has that. I would think she has satisfied the requirement....based on what you say.

As for the 20-30 wait for a response time, they say that for everything and I fully understand how you feel. They should give faster responses so we can prepare what ever we need to submit.
