Hi, everyone, I'm filing a petition for my mother, but I don't have enough income to support her. So my friend is going to file the affidavit of support as a joint sponsor. I heard that I need to send in a letter to prove the relationship between my friend and I. But I have no idea what information I need to include in that letter. Hope someone can help me to solve this problem. Thanks.

I've never heard of that.

Doesn't mean it doesn't exist, so

please post the URL or web address for where you saw this (even if it's in chinese).

Thanks !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

you could ask that other person for the source material.

If using chinese 'congregation' mode of knowledge acquisition, many times the outcome gets based on heresay and opinion, and is manytimes wrong.

At least, that's been my direct experience, when dealing with immigration matters.

You don't need anything to show proof of friendship. There's no such thing.

What your friend needs to submit, as a joint sponsor, are: 2013 ITR and W2, employment letter/pay stubs, and proof of US citizenship or LPR status.

hi

your friend is confused with the i864A form for household member. the joint sponsor sends another i864 and proof of being a LPR or USC

but when it is a household member, for example a spouse or parent living in the same house, you have to send a document that proves the relationship between sponsor and household member and and evidence of living in the same house

if it is a spouse, copy of the marriage certificate, if it is a parent or sibling, copies of birth certificates showing you are related

but you talked about a friend, so you will file an i864 as sponsor, your friend will file another i864 as joint sponsor
