I applied for my Nevada id end of April and my k1 visa runs out the 25th of may. they only gave me an id until then.

So once i have proof that we have applied for aos they will give me a proper id that doesn't expire for a few years.

I think the reason is incase you don't get married and try to stay illegally you will have a valid id.

Your K1 ran out the day you entered the US with it. It is a one off 1 entry visa, you are here on your I-94 That is probably when your ID will expire, once you get a combo card you will be able to get ID/Driving licence to the expiry of that card (1 year) or GC if you get that quick.

Well it looks like Im going to have to do a supplement pack sweet cakes. I will have to review the links this forum has provided and see what im missing. The package is in route to Chicago now so I will just get everything this weekend to mail out tomorrow (hopefully)

As far as the DS-3025 this I will have to look into cause I would think that at his POE the officer took his package with that info in it.

Yes, it's always best to have the requirements for the applications compiled together in an organized manner. In my case, I used 3 different folders for each (AOS, EAD &AP), and labeled them on the cover clearly. Make sure to not miss the requirements of each form.

Not sure what to do if you don't have any more copy of the DS-3025. I guess you can make a note on your cover letter that the immigration officer collected it. In that case, it should be with your case files. However, this is no guarantee that they won't ask you (or RFE) for a vaccination transcription, or I-693.

My wife came to US on K-1 and she does not have a combo card or GC. Her Florida ID will expire in 4 years when she applied ID with i-485 NOA1. It could be that the law in each state is different.

Applied Social Security Number on the 10 of March, 2014.

The requirements listed there are focused on I-485. The optional I-765 and I-131 applications have links to uscis (Item #13 & #14). Do read the requirements carefully.

I-765: http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-765instr.pdf

I-131: http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-131instr.pdf

2 pictures for each application (AOS, EAD, AP) = Total of 6

I just mailed mine in today, and I almost missed the 6 photo request. I decided to review each form's instruction list, and I found they all wanted two passport pictures each. We ended up taking 6 photos and mailed them in. I figured that even if they only required 2 because they were filed concurrently, I wouldn't want to take the chance on getting an RFE. I hope it all works out for both of us!

She was lucky then because the law for FL is that the ID or license only be valid for as long as the immigration document is. The I-485 receipt is not even listed as a document that can be used for a non-immigrant(or immigrant either) > http://www.gathergoget.com/

Their website did not mention anything about I-485. However, when the person at DMV opened their OWN system that lists for K-1 visa and they do ask for I-485. Also, it does indicate 4 years to be expired in their computer.

This has not been the case for others though. Perhaps it was just your particular county's DMV that do it that way. I do find it interesting, but not surprising, that the regulations do not actually seem to be statewide.
