Hello neighbor,

First of all, congratulations.

Now, if you applied in September 2013, your petitions was with USCIS and then it was approved sometime in APril 2014.

It was then sent to NVC.

Once NVC receives your case, it takes about a month to get a case number from NVC.

So yes, this is very normal!

If your lawyer has everything ready, it should take around 1.5 months to 2 months for the NVC process.

Good luck

To find out about any kind of averages or trends, please go to the Immigration Timelines (top menu bar, far right). Select your country (Algeria). Also, please fill in your own timeline. That helps everyone else with questions like yours.

Since you already got a Case # now things will start moving faster. You should be able to use your Case # and IIN to log into the CEAC website and do everything from there. I hope you (or your lawyer) have your AOS and IV packages ready to be shipped out.
