I received the e-mail below from the Embassy. I already sent my fiance the I-134 form but didn't realize it had to be notarized UGH Best thing I can do is try to mail it to him as fast as I can? Also, it doesn't mention the other forms that this website says he will have to fill out and send? See below: (WHY?)

( 2 ) DS-156-Non-Immigrant visa application
( 1 ) DS-156K-Non-Immigrant fiance visa application
( 1 ) DS-230-Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration

Kindly find the forms that you have to fill in order to proceed with your case:

Please prepare the following documents for each person applying for a visa and send them to our office via DHL courier service:

1. Photocopy of passport (the original to be submitted on the appointment date)

2. Photocopy of birth certificate

3. A copy of your divorce certificate (If previously married and divorced)

4. Police certificate from your country of nationality if you are 16 years old or older

5. Police certificate if you lived in a different country for more than 12 months and you were 16 years or older at that time.

6. An Affidavit of Support (Form I-134) signed by the Petitioner and notarized before either a notary public in the U.S. or a consular officer at the embassy (this can be done on the day of your appointment).

7. Petitioner’s most recent year of federal income taxes (form 1040 only). Please also bring the most recent W2 form and a job letter indicating current salary and length of employment

8. Medical exam for applicant as attached, medical examination report should be submitted on the day of the visa interview. Applicants are advised to schedule their medical examination 3weeks prior to the date of their visa interview.

9. Applications: DS-160 application online application form: https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/, please print the confirmation page and send it along with the documents.

10. 2 photos face view photos with a white background for the applicant

11. Payment for the visa application ($240) at the consular cashier on the appointment date.

Upon receipt of the required documents, we will schedule an appointment for the final visa interview on the first available slot.

I think he can get notarized at the US embassy, if I do understand the wording correctly. He might has to pay some fees to do that. So you don't have to send another I-134 form to him - save money and time-.

Oh really???? Thanks so much !!

Those other forms are not required for K1 anymore I dont believe. We were instructed to do a DS-160 only. At the time of interview your fiance has to have the confirmation page from this online app....

Sorry, one more thing. In the e-mail it stated to mail the confirmation page to the Embassy. Should he make a copy of it as well to take to the interview?

Yes ma'am! Send in to the embassy and also have one in hand at the interview. As for your notarized I-134 need, I looked back at my email I got from the embassy in november and that is the only thing that has a discrepancy between mine and yours. I thought that sounded weird, but yeah we didn't have to notarize. Either way, from what I read on yours above it doesn't make me feel that you need to send that I-134 to your fiance at all. It is something you fill out here, take to a notary here, and send in with the rest of the stuff. you are the petitioner. Your fiance does not need to handle the I-134 at all. I hope this helps. Feel free to let em know if you have other questions. But yes, we got through all of this and received our visa a couple of weeks ago with only the extra DS-160 thing, none of those others you listed above.

Oh i'm sorry my explanation here varies a little. We were fortunate enough that my fiance was here visiting me when we needed to send this in, so he brought his stuff with him and we sent it via DHL from the US. In your case, yeah you may want to send another? I'm confused how a consular will be able to notarize something they didnt see YOU sign. Isn't hat the point of a notary? If I were you I would send them a reply email and ask. That is confusing to me. Also, be prepared to wait 5 months to get an interview date. I hope that they will catch up for your sake, but we waited 5, others before us were waiting 6.....gurrrr.

Thank you for your reply. I reallyyyyyy appreciate it but I am just so confused lol So, yesterday I went ahead and had both I-134 forms notarized at my bank (I have two jobs) and mailed them to Egypt. He is going to mail everything to the Embassy I thought? He is going to mail copies of his police report, birth certificate, passport and also send 2 passport pictures (are they picky about the guidelines for photos?) and the confirmation letter from the DS-160 application.

Can he just take with him to the interview my I-134 forms and all supporting evidence as well as his sealed envelope from his medical exam once he gets it? (In the email they said to do his medical exam only 3 weeks before the interview?). HERE IS WHAT THE EMAIL SAID:

6. An Affidavit of Support (Form I-134) signed by the Petitioner and notarized before either a notary public in the U.S. or a consular officer at the embassy (this can be done on the day of your appointment).

7. Petitioner’s most recent year of federal income taxes (form 1040 only). Please also bring the most recent W2 form and a job letter indicating current salary and length of employment. <-------------Can this also just be brought to the interview????

The reason I am asking this is to see if he can just go ahead and mail his stuff to the Embassy NOW to get it going, since like you said it takes forever to get an interview grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
