It's just like the whole uppity thread. Where half of these White liberals on VJ were CLUELESS as to the original context of the word, and ALL attacked me for calling Operator out on it. You'd think I had committed some cardinal sin. You want to know the truth GandD, and hey Danno LostinBlue and the others can quote me on this, I've seen more racist attitudes from Northern middle and upper class White people than I have from Southern Whites or poor White people for that matter - granted I've never lived in the South so maybe my perception is wrong but Boston to me is like what I imagine Selma to be like.

My whole point is, what you may find funny is offensive to other people. It's not comparable to Dave Chappelle poking fun at some racial stereotype. The images I posted were used to dehumanize people.The Nazis did it, Whites did it to Native Americans and Blacks, Israelis do it to Palestinians, its all over the world. Sweet Jesu, I have a job and I don't keep grudges (except for the special people -- you know who you are! ). I'm not going to delve into the back catalogue. You have been rude, and as I said, that others have been rude doesn't give you carte blanche to be rude as well. I hazard that others have been similarly offended by your attitude in here, which has been presumptuous at best and in breach of TOS at worst. I don't have thin skin -- I'm a woman on the internet. I've gotten over a lot. I'm also a woman of colour. People say nasty stuff all the time about others from my ethnic background and it's offensive. I call them out, I report if necessary, I move on. The problem here is that most of you treat VJ like it's some type of gang. On this side we have xxx,xxxx, people and on this side we have xxxx,x,xxx, people. First, assuming I am one of the allies, I am not at all a liberal. I just have the gift of being able to get along with people who have different opinions than me. I don't get along with everybody, of course, because some are just jerks 100% of the time, but I do my best. And I make it a point to try to +1 everything Maven posts, even though I rarely understand what she says, just because I hope people will think I'm smart for agreeing with her.

Second, the issue with the uppity thread is kind of simple. I know why the word bothered you, but the problem was you jumped all over the guy for using the term. Keep in mind, there are people here form all over the world, so what we know is a derogatory term isn't necessarily known by everybody else.

Third, seriously, just relax a bit. Most of the people here are really good people; so save some of this anger for those who really deserve.

Fourth, the NFL draft is on and I'm posting on VJ. Something is definitely wrong with this picture.
