  1. 1. Can Vietnam push back on the Chinese Government?

    • Yes, but not without outside help.
    • Yes, on its own.
    • No. Not a chance. Not even with outside assistance. Vietnam will be assimilated.

Since the geniuses that run the site are being bamboozled into thinking the word that starts with the first three letters of the word Chinese and ends with the first three letters of the word Communist is some kind of slur, I'll explain here, for the uninformed and ignorant (VJ moderation, that would most of you).

The word in question, it's a political term. China + Communist. The Taiwanese aren't it, for example. They're just regular ol' Chinese.

I thought it was the other plural in question, the abbreviation for Japanese.

I am not aware of the admins actioning that. I don't use the term so it's not something I would pay much attention to.

But I do know they are actioning the word I like to use to refer to mainland China's Communist regime - its military, its government and its sympathizers (many of whom are right here on this site doing what they can to rid this planet of liberty).

Ok I was not paying attention, don't tell me they think Chi Com is a offensive word now. Huge face palm

I always used it to refer to a product of communist China

As in my SKS is a Chi com knock off. Hardly offensive

it's just gets weirder.

Yes, I saw that on the other thread. That is weird, as that particular abbreviation has been used on this site before, without complaint, for instance, to describe firearms manufactured in the PRC. As far as I know, and someone can correct me if I am wrong, the CPC has been the predominant party in China since the Revolution, and for all intents and purposes, there continues to be one party rule in the PRC.

Some VJ Moderators can't be expected to know that. Books are hard, you know.

It's does not have to make sense or even violate a TOS, they just have to get a complaint or so I was told

The fact it was used a long time means nothing

I used my letter response system for almost a year, when appropriate. Then one day, out of the blue, no warning, no logical explanation I got a 3 day suspension for it. Just like that. When I voiced my displeasure all the ignore MBD ignorance started. I very politely of course, told them I was not going to do it and moved on.

My only guess is this, as a former Army Officer and almost 30 years in management, I have had subordinates that handled situations poorly. I counseled them in private, but had to support them in public. ( unless it was a major issue). I hope that is the issue here. I mean who would agree to deal with all of us pontificating idiots for free, unless they got some kind of little thrill from it.

I object to your use of "idiots." It gives me a major sad. Nobody is allowed to use it again. EVAR.

Maybe we can use CC?

I plan on using the full form. Chinese Communist. Maybe tack on the word regime at the end.

This site has a few very vocal apologists for the Communist regime. This is their doing. They don't like the word because it reminds the reader of the regime. Well, guess what Chinese Communist regime sympathizers? I can still do that. Even if it means storing Chinese Communist in my clipboard for easy retrieval.
