My wife and I had her green card interview in Boston today and she was approved. Appointment was at 10AM and we got there about 9:30. They called us a few minutes after 10. Our interviewing officer was great, very friendly. I have to say, he really struck me as someone who believes in what he's doing. After going through this journey and having spent so much time dealing with recorded messages, unsympathetic voices on the other end of the line and mountains of paperwork, one almost expects to be questioned by some robotic drone who is only in touch with the emotions of irritation and bitterness. But our interviewing officer really seemed like a cool guy, like someone you'd like to have a beer with.

Anyway, we were, as ususal, armed to the teeth with everything we could think of, including our 16 month-old son, that would prove we are legitimately married and living under the same roof and financially viable and healthy and a hundred other things. He didn't ask for a shred of it. We gave him my wife's passport with the I-94 and my passport and at the end he asked for her employment authorization card to be returned, but that was it. Didn't ask for any pictures or utility bills or anything like that. Didn't ask for a new I-864. I gave him my wife's updated medical because it had been a year since her last one, but if I hadn't brought it up, I don't think he would have asked for that either. He asked my wife the boilerplate questions about arrests and terrorism and asked us when and where we were married, what our address is and when our son was born, but that was it for questions. All in all we were in and out of there in just over an hour.

Thanks to all for your advice, support and good wishes and best of luck to everyone who is waiting to complete their journey. If you're in Boston, I hope you get the same guy we did.
