Hi,

I will be filling out the I-129f petition soon.

~Where it asks for my fiance's address and name but especially address,

do i fill that information out in English with English letters or Ukrainian since she lives in Ukraine and her address is Ukrainian?

~If i have to fill it out in English, does anyone have any experience with how they translated the Ukrainian address to English?

Thank you!!!

English. My husband translated the address himself since he knows both languages. You could try using Google translate but be careful because its not always accurate. Good luck with this long journey!

Thank you so much for the reply!

I speak English too but i am not sure whats the correct way of translating the address. It has to be 100% correct.

use google maps to find her address in english.

I'm pretty sure that if there is a bit of an issue with some of the more obscure words it shouldn't be a problem as long as mail would actually reach there if you typed that address.

Try sending her a letter with the translated address. if it arrives, you're good.

but yeah try google maps from usa and find how her address is there, or if you are comfortable post her address here and we can do it for you (maybe remove the number if you don't want us to know the kv or d she is at :P

Always double check your documents and forms. Not only do you get delayed by RFEs and Checklists, but the time it takes for them to review the new items you send could be used to approve more applications. Save yourself and others valuable time!

Current Status: NVC:
-Assigned and Received NVC Case Number, IIN, and BIN April 18, 2014. (100% sure case # was assigned today because I called twice and it wasn't assigned in the morning when they opened but in the afternoon it was)
*Could not provide email then as case was still being updated in their system
-On April 21, 2014 I was able to provide my email and beneficiary's.
-On April 28 I was able to fill out DS-261
-On April 29 I received and paid AOS Fee (at 1pm)
-On May 1 I received and paid IV Fee (at 1pm [became available]), also AOS Fee shows as PAID
-On May 5 IV Fee shows as PAID and DS-260 became available and was completed. Also, AOS Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 7 IV Package Scanned by NVC

-On May 28 AOS Accepted

-On June 2 IV Accepted/Case Complete

-On June 11 Interview Email Received

-On July 3 Interview at Moscow

Note: Medical Exam scheduled after interview letter received by calling the specific clinic, earliest appointment was 2 weeks ahead)

-Visa approved, came to us, got greencard, sadly things didnt go well and divorced. Last I hears she was still in the US and got a full greencard (I notified USCIS of divorce though)

This is exactly what I did to confirm that we had translated the address correctly. I went to Google Maps, typed in the address, then changed it to street view (I think that's what its called) and it showed his flat. I took a picture & sent it to him asking if that was his flat. He confirmed it was & that confirmed the correct translation of the address. I saw your post yesterday but completely forgot we did this until Snipe mentioned it.

It doesn't matter how you put in the address, but it does have to be in English. It's not used for anything except for the embassy to send her a letter saying they got the paperwork, so if they can't decipher it back into Russian/Ukrainian, they can't send this. This letter isn't needed though. Just try your best to transliterate it, or use Google Maps and copy the way it's transliterated there.
