It looks like everyone is getting their green card, except us. We filed for aos on May 26th. Got our interview on Dec 11th in Chicago. Very nice. Quick less than 10 min interview I think because of our 6 years old relationship. We were told that we are approved and we should get the gc within 2 weeks or so. No update since that. No case status changes from interview stage. No letter from uscis and no green card. It's been 3 weeks after the interview. I don't know if that's because Chicago office is backlogged or it's because of the holidays and they are just passing Christmas cookies instead of working.

It looks like the appointment times change and open up daily. Look every day. http://www.uscis.gov/news/fact-sheets/your-guide-infopass

Well, finally get an InfoPass opening next Monday afternoon. Since nothing have changed in-between (none I-485, I-130, I-131 and I-765 have been approved as of today), what exactly should I ask at the counter? I don't want a reply that asks me to call NCSC to ask for a service request as the case has been severely delayed.

They say it can take up to 30 days. I'd make an info pass to inquire. You could request a passport stamp, too.

Ask for an update. Be pleasant and calm and hopefully they can help you out.

Just got back from our infopass appointment. They do not know much more than we do here. The only thing we have find out is that our case is awaiting a decision. (Our online case status says that we are at the interview stage) IO said that you should hear something within 2-4 weeks. Frankly for some reason, I don't believe them. It's gonna be 2 months after the interview.

Hello everybody! I hope you all are doing great. I stopped by to say hi and give an update on me. Since I got my green card last August I went back to college, Fall was a crazy busy semester while working part time. I managed to get a 3.35 GPA, was accepted in the Honors program and got 5 much needed holiday weeks. I just started Spring semester this week, taking only 3 classes this timeattending on the evenings. I also got a new full time job the beginning of this year, I work for a giant oil & chemical company at the corporative accounting deparmet. Some days when I take the bus back home I can't believe how blessed I have been and how wonderful yet busy my life is since I became a LPR. This week I also received my first official pay check with all the deductions and stuff, I am so going to frame it!

Life is going too fast already, I have to set up all kind of reminders for May 2016 when we have to file for ROC.

Hope everyone is doing great and enjoying the American life! :luv:

Well, the current situation is:

  1. InfoPass and service request are not effective;
  2. I got a job and the job offer is coming in a few days; and
  3. My current EAD (from OPT) is expiring in a few days.

Should I file a new I-765 for a renewal card, or just ask for a expedite when the job offer comes?

I've read of people expediting their EAD when they had an offer letter, but they screwed up your case so badly... I don't even know! If the employer is understanding, I'd wait for the offer letter and then pester USCIS to move things along. Sending in another EAD application might just confuse the poor souls - plus, they should have your original one on file.

Well, the next day after I wrote my original message (i.e. last Friday), I DID receive my job offer before I request a expedite. However, while the person on the otherside of the phone was quite sympathic (she said she hasn't seen anyone waiting that long and that's crazy), she didn't ask me to fax my job offer.

Earlier today, I checked myUSCIS and it said they gave me a response regarding my expedite request, yet I haven't received any email for this...

Will call Congressperson on this--job starts at March 9!

So today I had very interesting infopass at Chicago office. So first we talked to our info pass lady and she told us that our case is not approved yet since our interview in December 2014 and we should come back in 30 days. We asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor told us that she doesn't know why our case is not officially approved and she will talk to the IO that interviewed us. With a struck of luck our IO that interviewed us stopped by. She said that she is so sorry and she was overwhelmed with cases. She said that she remembers our interview and we are approved. She said she will pull out our case out of the pile and will work on it. Hopefully we will hear something soon. Fingers crossed. We filed AOS in may 2014 and had interview in December. It is 3 months since that. So if u were told that you are approved and didn't hear something in awhile that means that your file is sitting somwhere on a desk and it is just a matter of luck. It seems like they don't care how long we wait.
