Melibelle, I'm glad you guys got back too! It was a painless experience, overall, though I'd rather just have my green card... I was admittedly more worried about crossing with my baby (and without my husband) than AP. The Canadian officer was confused at why I handed him all the paperwork (why did you give me this, do you have custody issues???). The US CBP was thrilled I had it all "you even have a copy of his drivers license, wonderful!!!".

I had an I-485 filing already submitted through an employment-based application. Post-marriage, I submitted an I-130, which after being approved was interfiled with the existing I-485.

Interfiling/AOS Timeline:

01/03/14 - Day 274 - Interfiling request received by USCIS

04/03/14 - Day 364 - Interfiling service request sent

04/30/14 - Day 391 - Second interfiling service request sent

05/19/14 - Day 410 - Email sent asking for case status update

06/04/14 - Day 426 - Response received that I-485 was transferred to NBC

06/05/14 - Day 427 - I-485 updated to "sent to local office for processing"

07/02/14 - Day 454 - Status changed to testing & interview. Interview date August 4!!

08/04/14 - Day 487 - Mini-Stokes interview. IO intended on approving AOS but the computer did not show I-130 approval. The wait goes on...

It might not be a bad idea to try and see if they can make an inquiry into why it is taking so long. I know it has worked for a few people. In my case too, I'm not sure if it was just a matter of coincidence or not, but my case was being dragged out as well, and a few days after getting in touch with the Congressman, the issue was rectified and the case moved to card production (see my timeline to get a better idea).

I'm not sure who your Congressman is. Just run a Google search with your city name and congressman and it should come up. Then on his webpage, there should be a link to contact him via email. Most Congressmen have liaisons that will do the ground work for you. You probably will have to fill out a Release form so that they can request access to your file. The liaison will tell you what to do.

As far as what you should write, that is entirely up to you. Just explain your case situation, and provide any and all details, including phone calls made to the USCIS and lack of information/updates received. And ask if they can help find out what is causing the delay.

Folks, I've finally got my interview date! Nov 4th! I can't help but wonder if my info pass helped to hurry things along... Likely not but I was told 30-60 more days until they get to my document, yet a week later they scheduled me. I think there is some ability to do that - the IO asked me if there was anything going on that would make expediting an interview important...

Folks, I've finally got my interview date! Nov 4th! I can't help but wonder if my info pass helped to hurry things along... Likely not but I was told 30-60 more days until they get to my document, yet a week later they scheduled me. I think there is some ability to do that - the IO asked me if there was anything going on that would make expediting an interview important...

Yay! Congratulations!

05-14-14: Married!

05-22-14: (Day 00) - AOS package (I-130/I-485/I-131/I-765) overnighted to Chicago

05-23-14: (Day 01) - Package delivered and signed for by J.C.

05-30-14: (Day 08) - Email/text notifications received at 12:24am

06-05-14: (Day 14) - NOAs received in the mail

06-07-14: (Day 16) - Biometrics appointment received in the mail

06-20-14: (Day 29) - Biometrics complete as scheduled

06-26-14: (Day 35) - Received text that I-485 was moved to "Testing and Interview" stage

08-12-14: (Day 82) - EAD/AP card in production

08-20-14: (Day 90) - EAD/AP card arrived

08-27-14: (Day 97) - Received email for interview October 3rd

08-29-14: (Day 99) - NOA2 for interview received in the mail

10-03-14: (Day 134) - Interview at Federal Plaza - APPROVED! Card in Production email 20 minutes later!

10-09-14: (Day 140) - Received email that card was mailed

10-10-14: (Day 141) - Green card, Welcome to the US notice, and approval of I-130 received in the mail

ROC

08-02-16: Mailed ROC package to VSC

08-09-16: Check cashed

08-12-16: Received NOA dated 8-5

08-26-16: Received biometrics appointment for 9/8/16

07-13-17: New card is being produced!
