Melibelle, don't be sad ! You and I we have the same local office.. and I've been on testing and interview since June 30th ... similar to you.

That doesn't mean anything bad :) just our local office is crowded

Which is even scarier in a way, because no one has been reporting getting interviews in NYC. The last person who posted getting an interview date was over a month ago. I am sure NYC is a busy office, but if no one is getting interviews, imagine how backed up they must be with people ahead of us...

I'm not really worried about getting approved; I think we're pretty well-prepared, but I just want it to happen already!!!!! I was so optimistic we'd be done in 3 months like the folks who applied in February and March. Not even having an interview date at this point is discouraging.

Anyway. Whining over. Thanks for the encouragement. I will hopefully be more positive (or at least less negative) tomorrow.

Ah, thanks. My laptop is ancient and clunky so I rarely use it in favor of my iPad. I was completely confused.

I've been in testing and interview since June 26th too. I'd hoped with that, that I would have had my interview in August. :( I'm trying to be patient, but having my interview later in the fall means my husband will need to take the day off work - an annoyance for a teacher.

I suppose it was my fault. My plan was to submit my application in March, but my baby came 4 weeks early (100% healthy), so it derailed my plans for several weeks, to say the least.

Once my EAD comes, I am trying to decide if it is 'safe' to send off my passport to be renewed. It would be horrible for it to be gone for the interview. Though, I suppose I'd have my AP so I could cross and go to a Canadian passport office to speed up the process (and keep my passport in hand). But AP still makes me cautious, I don't want to cross unless it's a true emergency.

Yeah, and looking at USCIS' processing times is more annoying. For my office it says they are working on January's. Fortunately timelines here say that people in April have had interviews. I'd just like to have it done. Summer slowdown? I imagine like many offices they have more folks on holidays. Arg.

I'd love it if they would just grant our GC. We have a mortgage and a baby together. How much more bona fide can you get. Plus I'm an RN that had to go through a much more stringent clearance to get my license and TN visa to work down here than the GC paperwork. Don't even get me started on how to do that paperwork. Ugh.

I understand. But also it is summer and between the crowded office and the employee's holiday... one thing and another... I was thinking it would be faster also, but hey, we got to testing and interview pretty fast too!! :)

I don't know if I will go through with naturalization. That is too far in the future to think about right now. We'll see where life takes us...

My EAD is here, time to schedule an appointment with the DMV ^^

11/17/17 (Day 472) I-797  Notice of Removal of Condition being approved received in the mail.

11/20/17 (Day 475/15 months 18 days) New Lawful Permanent Resident arrived in the mail; card in hand at last! :dancing:

:dancing: Yet another notification with tracking #, according to USPS my EAD is expected to be delivered on Monday 8/11 :dancing:

We are leaving town this weekend and won't be back until Tuesday midnite, I already talked to our neighbor to take care of our mail as usual when we are gone, and she will send me a text message when this particular letter arrives.

Interesting the destination that shows "shipment accepted" is in Corbin, KY. It was sent priority 2 days and includes $100.00 insurance.
