Hi,

My fiancee and I came on Monday with a k-1 visa. We went together to passport control but the security guy on the line saw my fiancee's package and told us that she has to go to a room and I (the petitioner) had to go to passport control, So I couldn't go with her. When she came out from the room to pick up the baggage, She told me that they will send documents by mail. I told her that to go to tell them that we moved and have to send the documents to the new address on the 6059B form.
The officer told my fiancee that they cannot change the address in the system but that they wont send any documents after you get marry.
I would like to know if the USCIS or NVC sends any kind of letter/notification by mail after arrival. I would like to change the address so any letter does get lost. I called the USCIS and they told me that they cannot change the address because there are no pending cases after approval.
Does anybody knows if the USCIS or NVC send any letter after arrival? If so, How can I change the address?
Thank you in advance,

I don't remember any document but maybe they sent a Don't Forget to Get Married letter. Anyway, nothing of importance. You'll update your address with them when you file AOS.

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

I had to switch addresses & knew something was going to be sent to the old address. I informed the Post Office and they kept an eye out for things that were from a particular address or entity & would put it in my new box. I literally live 100 yards from my Post Office & I'm from a town of about 350 people. A bigger city office might not be as helpful. I don't know how recently you moved but they do mail forwarding for a while so if something is sent to the old address, they just send it to your new address.

No need to worry if you move to a new house. When your wife-to be will be submitting her AOS packet, your new address will be effectively the current address in the system. Uscis will not interrogate you why you moved and there will be nothing that will be sent to your old address before AOS. :)

CBP collects the sealed envelope and sends it to the USCIS. They do not mail you anything. You just put your current address on the forms when filing for AOS.

Did you go to the SSA and apply for an SSN already? Also, you can get a marriage license without an SSN You simply tell the court clerk that you are a non-resident without an SSN and they will most likely use your passport in place of an SSN.

~ Moved from K-1 Process to AOS from Family Based Visas - OP past K-1 stage ~
