Yes, if Clinton had proposed tax cuts, Republicans would have supported them. Clinton did the opposite and was opposed for that reason - that's policy based opposition.

I'll acknowledge that there are racists that are going to hate Obama no matter what; but I still think Bush had it worse.

There are people on this forum who still hate Bush. Even if you point out the good things he did in Africa where his policy saved millions of lives; it just doesn't matter. They're going to hate him forever.

Do they really hate Bush or specific policies? For example, personally, I thought his policy in Iraq was #######, but I quite like him as a person, an affable man and someone who clearly wanted to do the right thing but wasn't always capable for understanding what the right thing was.
