Not true.

You just need a license to drive on public roads. Even then you could drive on public roads without a license. Not to hard to do.....it would just be illegal....ie..crime

So what? So what, what does this prove? How far down this blind alley are you going to run? I refuse to engage you in this pointless foray into fantasy land. This is completely and utterly irrelevant. This kid killed his dad with a gun. He couldn't have killed his dad with a car except in some exceptional circumstance, and he would be unlikely to have killed his dad with a knife or a brick or a plastic bag, there are zero incidents annually of murders by kids of their parents by these other means. There are countless incidents of accidental or deliberate deaths by people using guns.

The joy of a gun is that it's designed to kill. A car isn't. It's big and heavy and capable of speed. The unprotected human is not proof against a vehicle travelling at speed when it gets hit. The thing is though, that it would take a deal of planning to kill someone with a car, it's not something you can just pick up on a fit of peak and use to kill someone. That's where the whole fallacy of the 'gun is a tool' starts and finishes. Impulse killing with guns is widespread in the US, it's widespread because they are easily available and simple and quick to use. . It would take some planing, luck and determination to kill someone with a car. Any fool can kill another person with a gun in a matter of moments, no determination, no planning, no thought required. Lots of regret later.

Listen....I think you just hate guns and are not at all interested in saving lives. So be it. I like my guns and it is my belief that the second amendment is what makes the USA the greatest country in the world. Guns keep our freedoms and liberties.

You may not believe this....but our founding fathers did. I choose to side with them.

I know full well that whoever posted this article didn't give two sh*** about the killed father......it was just another anti-gun post. It is what it is. I have my guns and you don't. I am not trying to make you own one......so why are you trying to take away my rights as a gun owner?

This just shows were thinking gets some people. Why do you think I 'hate' guns? That's not even rational. Why do you think I am trying to take your guns away from you? I said it's about liberty, not safety. All this talk of safety misses the point.

It is about liberty, sure. But let us be clear on the point that liberty is not the same as private gun ownership. Nor is the latter a necessity for the former.
