Many conservatives are now facing poignant levels of intolerance that subject them to the very abuse the US Constitution is supposed to protect them from:

The Shocking Warning Professor Allegedly Gave to Students Who Happen to Be ‘Ted Cruz-Supporting Teabaggers’
A UC Santa Barbara student alleges her black studies professor warned any “Ted Cruz-supporting ‘tea baggers’ to get the hell out of his classroom before he sent them home to their mother in a body bag.”
Demonstrators with the Tea Party protest the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) targeting of the Tea Party and similar groups during a rally called "Audit the IRS" outside the US Capitol in Washington, DC, June 19, 2013.
Demonstrators with the Tea Party protest the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) targeting of the Tea Party and similar groups during a rally called “Audit the IRS” outside the US Capitol in Washington, DC, June 19, 2013.
This was reportedly on the very first day of class last fall. The course, offered by Professor Otis Madison, was titled “The Obama Phenomenon.”
The student, identified as Alice Gilbert by the College Fix, says the quote is from memory but argued “there were other students with me in the class who can attest to them.”
“When Professor Madison made his comments in the very first lecture, I was taken aback and offended,” Gilbert said.
However, she claims she never complained to the university because the professor did not “target” her specifically and she wasn’t sure the school could do anything just because she was offended by something her professor said in class.
Which lefty will be the first to make a derogatory comment about the source of this story?

About TheBlaze

OUR MISSION

We believe Americans seek information, truth, and empowerment.

We believe Americans want to put principles above politics.

We believe that America was built on hard work, and that capitalism has lifted more people out of squalor, sickness, and slavery than any other system.

As a company we strive to do as Jefferson said: Question with boldness, hold to the truth, and speak without fear.

We do not color in the lines, nor play by the rules established by either of the parties or by the media that has empowered them with distortion.

We never treat our viewers or readers like idiots. We respect their desire to be informed so they can be useful and effective citizens.

We are not interested in left and right. We seek answers to right and wrong.

We are more than a media company. We are a community, a gathering place, and a source for inspiration & education. Our goal is to educate, empower, engage and entertain.

The Blaze is a verb. We are action. We are restoration.

We are proud to be Americans. We believe hard work is the foundation of a great country and a great company. We are driven by our values: faith, family, ingenuity, respect, and truth.

As a country and a company we recognize that we will get it wrong from time to time, but we’ll boldly correct our mistakes, learn from them, and come back stronger.

We answer to God and you. We ask for your feedback, your ideas, and your questions. Only through mutual respect and dialogue can we grow and build for the future.

Laus Deo

what a whiner. since when is there a guarantee that you'll never be offended by something a college professor says in class?

I remember in one of my college math classes, the guy walks in and tells us, "Not all of you are meant to pass this class. I think about half of you are going to fail." At that point, I'm looking around the room to see how many people look dumber than me. If it's more than half, then I'm good.

But, I think telling someone that you'll send them home in a body bag is a bit too much.

um. i don't believe he was actually threatening to kill them and send them home in a body bag. come on. put on your big girl sara palin panties. these are college students, not kindergardeners. note that she didn't feel threatened, she felt offended. big difference.

i think that we're all getting a little crazy with what can and cannot be said. if this was something said to a class of children, i would agree with you.

I don't think he should lose his job or anything but someone should definitely pull him aside and let him know that it was a mistake and he should choose his words better.

Not saying the guy was right, but without context, how do we know the rest of it wasn't something like 'some of you will find this class shocking. You'll be shocked to death, especially if you're right wingers." *Insert rest of quote*

Because if that were the context, I wouldn't find it nearly as inappropriate to have made that comment. So I'd like to hear more, from other students, about the context.

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

May 12, 2014: NOA1.
October 27, 2014: NOA2. (5 months, 2 weeks, 1 day after NOA1)
October 31, 2014: USCIS ships file to NVC (five days after NOA2) Happy Halloween for us!

November 18, 2014: NVC receives our case (22 days after NOA2)

December 17, 2014: NVC generates case number (50 days after NOA2)

December 19, 2014: Receive AOS bill, DS-261. Submit DS-261 (52 days after NOA2)

December 20, 2014: Pay AOS Fee

January 7, 2015: Receive, pay IV Fee

January 10, 2015: Complete DS-260

January 11, 2015: Send AOS package and Civil Documents
March 23, 2015: Case Complete at NVC. (70 days from when they received docs to CC)

May 6, 2015: Interview at Montréal APPROVED!

May 11, 2015: Visa in hand! One year less one day from NOA1.

That is true. By itself, it really sounds awful, but context could change everything.

Raging liberal here. Literally think that zero tolerance policies the ones that result in idiotic bs like this are the stupidest things ever. Context is everything. A ten year old making finger guns and saying 'bang bang, I'm going to kill you, I'm going to bring a gun and kill you' should be suspended. A ten year old making finger guns and saying 'what's up' should not. A ten year old signing his name in ASL and his sign name happening to include finger gun shapes should not.

Zero tolerance is extremism. Extremism is bad.
