Wasn't sure where to post this but here goes nothing, My wife and I were just married this past Friday, May 2nd. Now we are ready to get here status changed and contact social security to get her name changed. She used to be an Au Par in the states so she does have a SSN. Where should we start? and do we just file the I-485 form? Thanks for the help in advance.

Thanks, I keep seeing things about a I-94 form saying that we should already have that form but we do not, is that common?

Congrats for your marriage. My husband and I also got married in May 2. Anyhow, If you are adjusting status from K-1 visa, this is the guide

The I-94 form is electronically now. To retrieved it, go to this link https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/

Try to get to the SSA office as soon as possible. They will only do the name change while the I-94 is still valid (actually they won't help you if it is less than 2 weeks away from expiring). Otherwise you have to wait until you receive the EAD or green card.

You should file the I-131 and 1-765 with the I-485.
