While you all want to hate me for my feelings about illegal immigration track back to who first mentioned the I601a

I don't think anyone hates your for you feelings about illegal immigration. I'm against illegal immigration too. But I must give advice honestly according to what the current law allows, not according to my personal feelings. Each persons case is a bit different and it's ultimately up to USCUS and Homeland Security to make those decisions, not people on a forum. I can't be angry with an individual doing what the law allows, even if I don't like the law. If I feel strongly about it, I must fight to change the law. And again, we're not talking about a blanket amnesty policy to reward illegal behavior which I truly feel is a slap in the face to everyone who has ever gone through the process legally. What you and some others are having mixed emotions about is that in some cases an individual who is/was here illegally has a perfectly legal recourse to get legal and the law was designed for that purpose, it's not a loophole.

Ok I really wished the OP would really explain how he came to the country. I believe that will get him the very best help in terms of advice. I know he says he is illegal and undocumented but being that he came here when he was 10 yrs old (like he just said) and he being originally from Ghana, I am thinking he should really cross-check and confirm on how he came to the US before he takes any action. Because if there was a chance that he came here with a visa, then he has a very small hurdle to cross. He wouldn't need a waiver etc. he just has to apply for an adjustment of status and his overstay would be forgiven. Also because he came here when he was so young and did not have control over his immigration matters, isn't there a chance he qualifies for the DACA? If he does he could at least get the 2 yr work and residency permit for now. I think he needs to really be certain of how he came here first.
