Monica Lewinsky breaks silence on Clinton affair

I hope she was too. Again, someone will marry her. Porn stars get married. Hello

You know you my cousin right? But I disagree on this one.

I have to roll with Harpa on this. That woman is going to carry that baggage around until she dies. You're talking about someone who's name has become a verb. Any normal man isn't going to want to hear the jokes and ridicule he will have to endure as long as he's with her. Any rich man won't trust her. Whatever it was, be it a mistake or blackmail, it's there to stay and there's no where on earth she could live outside some village that has been locked away in a bubble for the last 20 years that won't know her name/face.

Porn stars can live normal lives, she can't. Her ties to Clinton have seen to that.

Calling Clinton her boss is a bit misleading because technically, you could call anyone working inside the White House, a subordinate to the President, even a prep cook who probably has no interaction with the president, but instead has a supervisor that they answer to. The implication is that Clinton used his position of power to take advantage of Lewinksy, either by offering her gifts/hush money/promotion in exchange for sexual favors. He did not, according to Lewinsky. What Clinton was guilty of was being a sleazeball and thinking that he's above reproach because probably he thought that one, it was none anyone else's goddam business (which he was right), and two, he didn't believe he broke any law having sexual relations with an intern (he didn't). Clinton lied about it not to protect himself from potential legal consequences (he broke no laws from his affair), but to save himself and his presidency from the embarassment. It was a little white lie. Yes, it was sh!tty of him and sleazy, and stupid to think that Kenneth Starr wouldn't nail him for lying about it, but nonetheless, it was an insignificant lie that had no consequences. That's why the impeachment vote had no real consequence and didn't remove him from office. Has he been the first sitting president to lie? Hardly. Was it anywhere near as big a lie as Reagan's during the Iran-Contra scandal? Hardly. Will Republicans ever forgive Clinton's little white lie like they've forgiven Reagan's? Ha, never. How Starr's witchhunt of the Clintons went was far more deplorable than what Clinton did, IMO. The selective morality by the Republican Party was and continues to be a thing of nonsensical wonder.

Sure "It was a little white lie" until Clinton echoed the same 'little white lie' under oath in his civil deposition in the Paula Jones sexual harassment suit.

Sure "It was a little white lie" until Clinton echoed the same 'little white lie' under oath to a federal grand jury.

"The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!" - Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady of the United States, 1945.

"Retreat hell! We just got here!"

And it is still inconsequential today - some 16 years later - as it was then. It was something to be resolved amongst the parties involved. Monica, Bill and Hillary let it go. Shouldn't everyone else too?

Well If I am going to be nit-picky....

You said She was lucky Hilary did not kick her but.. If I cheat on my wife it is not the other woman whos butt my wife should be kicking, its mine.

***content removed***

you choose to attack her and call her a delusional psycho. I think she was a young person caught up in something much larger than herself and made some stupid choices.

I'm not saying she is not responsible for her actions, just not of the vitriol you are throwing at her because she caused damage to someone from your favored party.

First, both buts should be whipped. I am sure Bill got his but tore off.

Second, we fight hard for what we have in this country. There are plenty of men who do not see us as equals. The last thing we need is some girl banging the married boss. This defeats the purpose and hard work many women activist put in for us when it comes to equality and equal pay. Many men see us as uncontrollable little puppies. And trust me, I don't think highly of Bill either. But as a woman, I am disappointed in Monica's behavior. She was in a powerful position and fumbled the ball.

Please show me proof that the Democrats are my favorite party. Please show me my voting patter or something for your baseless claim.

Someone who won't get any more strokes is Bill, if she makes President she'll probably assign the secret service to watching him around the WH interns.

I am pretty sure they have had a marriage in name only for so long she does not care. Pretty common in politics

I read somewhere that if Hilary runs for president the Republicans are going to rake it all back up and make a huge issue of it. Shows a complete lack of class from them as it's her running not Bill.

You have a link for that

She defended it and said it was all just a right wing conspiracy, when she knew better, so it's fair game

Sorry but if I could be with a girl that was with the President for Christ sake.. That's a pretty big ego for a man. Think about it. A girl that was so good it almost brought down a Presidency.. Wanted me.. Thats cool

You see it that way. The rest of the world sees her as a home wrecker. I wouldn't want her rep.

It was tongue in cheek

Seriously.. a chubby little 20 year old that got attention from the President in the Oval office. A lot of girls would have been swayed by that .

I say she gets a pass.

Now if she turned down a 10 million dollar deal.. She is an idiot

Shes not exactly broke...

She wrote a book in 1999 that netted her 500,000

She did an interview with Barbara Walters and was given 1 million for the international rights

Jenny Craig contracted her for 1 million to lose 40 pounds (she ended up only making 300,000)

Shes had stints on various television programs including hosting one of her own on FOX television

Anyone remember she created a company making handbags?

She moved to London in the mid 2000's and earned a masters degree from the London School of Economics

She is currently 40 years old.. Never married.

A fairly recent picture...

She was NOT in a powerful position at all. She was an intern, a perfect position to be manipulated and abused by the people that hold the real power. IMO you're being a little tough on a very young woman who was manipulated by the most powerful man on the planet.

Sure she was. She had boobs, didn't she?
