In my case about 2 weeks after I filed I got the NOA1 receipt notice, then soon after that a letter for the biometrics appt, the appt date was about a month after the letter. All they do there is fingerprints and photo. This is just in case they have not already taken your prints and photo every bloody time you enter the country and then twice at the embassy during interview.

After they receive your AOS packet they will send you your NOA receipt. That usually takes about a week to 2 weeks. Soon after that, you will be scheduled for a biometrics appointment with your local ASC (Application Support Center). They will schedule you close to month after receipt of your application. In most cases, you can go and do a walk-in as soon as you receive your bio appointment. They just take your fingerprints and photo at the ASC and as soon as you are done there--the real wait begins.

Sein oder Nichtsein, das ist heir die Frage.
