Certificate of single????

My fiance over in Vietnam says that she needs a "certificate of being single" to take with her to her interview. I do not know if this is required there or not. I can send her a copy of my divorce decree, but that was included when I filed the 129. My local court house said they have no such thing. Is she just over reacting in trying to be sure she has everything she may need? Anyone who has just been through a interview at HCM consulate lately have any advice?

She needs Certificate of Non Impediment to Marriage, that certificate says that she has the right to get married.

that is the certificate that almost all the US consulates ask for

My local county courthouse said they can provide a certified letter on their letter head that states there is no record of marriage for me as of this date. Sound good? After I pick it up I can email it to her.

I can tell you that for us, the CFO office in the Philippines wants that for the USC, but since there is no such thing here they accept your latest tax return, since you have the Single box checked off. Just make sure to blot out the SS#. You don't want that floating around Asian computer systems.
