It's no coincidence this is happening at the same time Bangladeshi Muslims are being demonized in the Indian election campaign.

Attacks against Hindu households and a temple in Homna Upazila of Comilla took place after rumours were spread over loudspeakers that two youths had defamed Prophet Muhammad.

Locals and police said teachers and students of eight madrasas in the upazila led the Sunday attacks on Hindus at Baghsitarampur village.

Twenty-eight families have been affected in the attacks.

A mob of nearly 3000 were involved in the attacks and they looted belongings of the Hindus, most of whom are poor farmers and fishermen.

Villagers said a call was made from the loudspeakers at Jamia Arabia Islami Emdadul Ulum Madrasa at Rampur village, near Baghsitarampur, to launch the assault on the Hindus.

Before the attacks, leaflets were distributed for last several days in the madrasas claiming that two Hindu youths had slandered the prophet in a Facebook post on Apr 27.

Police arrested Principal of Bagmara Madrasa at Muradnagar, Nuruzzaman over the attacks. However, the main accused, Nazrul Islam, who took the lead distributing leaflets, is still at large.

...

Comilla Additional Commissioner of Police Nazrul Islam told bdnews24.com: “Nazrul Islam, in a letter sent to the eight madrasas, said that the prophet was slandered. He initiated the task of mobilising the madrasa teachers and students.”

He also said it was Nazrul, a third-year student of English department at Comilla Victoria Government College, who called on the people over loudspeakers to carry out the attacks.

...

Villagers said the attacks continued for around 30 minutes.

...

This correspondent saw most of the houses in the Hindu locality ransacked.

God this is so wrong.

Okay, I've denounced it. We're covered.

The Moderate Muslim has spoken.

Don't make me angry, you wouldn't want to see me when I'm angry.

Isn't it tiring to keep responding to every anti-Muslim thread?

Anti-Muslim and Anti-Black. I have to alternate between my protesting. Not to mention gays and any other minority group folks on here love ganging up on. I do that protesting on the side.

But yes, I do get weary. If a thread gets no hits and it's about Islam or black people, I'll pass on it because I know I'm usually the target. If I respond, the fire gets lit. If there are people in it talking, I'll see where it's going and decide if my .02 will help.

I am just trying to lead you away from sin.

Wouldn't want me to OG.

And black, don't forget black. I assume it must be a little tiring to completely ignore anything else :content:

That's right, I have double duty. If I was white and Muslim, it'd be a piece of cake.

No, then you'd be a sleeper agent. Lethal and deadly, carefully disguised under a mask of societal privilege.

That's a good one.
