I got this status today. Anyone who had the same? I don't remember requesting for transfer.

Any thoughts?

That's not unusual. They are moving your case to another processing center to "lighten the load" at the current center. Ours did the same and there were no delays. Actually it sped up the process a little.

Keep checking for updates and following your progress.1942.gif

Yes! I had my interview last week. I was placed on Administrative Processing. I submitted the missing document the day after my interview. No update until today, that showed transfer in progress.

Greenbaum said, it's suppose to lighten the load and speed up the process. So I get that this is a good sign?

It can take a few weeks to a month (or more) once the embassy receives requested documents to review the file and final approval (if no further issues). Just have to be patient and keep checking the CEAC website.

As for your file be transferred, I would call/email the embassy and ask about this.

Do you mean that the transfer in progress status should not be popping up at this stage of the visa process?

I check my CEAC status everyday. I felt happy that the status changed, although I have to admit it got me confused.

Thank you Hank_. Will call the embassy first thing tomorrow. It's not a good sign after all.

Did you have your interview already?

Mine went from Ready to Administrative Processing after the interview, then Transfer in Progress.

I tried searching online for other cases that received a status of Transfer in Progress but did not find much info.

This might be a problem...or not. I don't know. I'm confused. How come no one gets a Transfer in Progress status except for those who actually requested transfer from one consulate to another.

yes the process normally is -ready- ap- (many times) ready (again) - ap (again) - (then) issued.

Oh, and if a 221g wasn't issued at the interview no more documents will be needed.

How long it sits in AP depends what they see in the application, this varies widely from person to person for sure. Things are going rather slow at the embassy as of late with all the expedites... so a little extra patience will get you through it all ;)

They didn't ask about 221g. Well, me and my lovee fiancé were having that attitude right now " cuz patience is a virtue. We're just excited thinkin about it n couldn't wait to see each other again.

In your other post, you said USEM asked you to submit a new NBI clearance with your alias (AKA). That's your 221g.
