How Do I Know that we've successfully filed for Report of Marriage?

Hi everyone!!

We submitted the requirements for Report of Marriage to PH Consulate General - New York. Date of Report April 1, 2014.

Last week, we just received the return envelope from them. However, all the photos, are still there, the original form that we submitted was also there, the receipt saying it was encash, and with note "Please apply for Marriage Certificate from the NSO 6 months from the Date of Issuance"

Is this normal? They've returned our photos back! What about the note, what does that mean? UGH. very confused. Does this mean everything is okay now and we just need a copy of our Marriage Certificate from NSO??

11/04/2013 - RFE from checking online

11/07/2013 - Biometrics

11/08/2013 - Received the RFE letter in the mail & sent RFE on the same day!!

11/14/2013 - RFE respond received

12/04/2013 - I-485 Family-based Card in production (a.m.) then went to Decision (p.m.) - NO interview

12/09/2013 - Green Card was mailed!

12/11/2013 - GC received! 2 months and 1 day from the NOA1

Was there any official endorsement on the form that you sent the CG?

We just completed our ROM from Phili Embassy Wash DC two weeks ago and we got back the ROM annotated with official stamps and pictures were kept. Yours sounds like it didn't get processed. IMHO, that if it were me, I would contact the Consul and discuss your findings. Call or email them with your concerns.

it seems it has been processed already. they wont be needing the pictures... te consulate will advise you to get an NSO copy after 6 months because that will be enough time for them to forward the documents to MANILA..

i thnk you are approved. goodluck.

but please do call them that will put your mind at ease...

Yes you get one of the forms you filled out back, but you'll note that it is now stamped. This is your copy of the report of marriage abroad. We didn't get anything we sent in back, including the original marriage certificate they said they would return. The note about applying for the marriage certificate, is just to let you know it will take that long before you can expect to have the NSO record your marriage.

Why can't you? a foreign divorce that was never recognised?

Oh wait, looked at your profile, yep don't hold your breath on that one, the Philippines doesn't even allow divorce and are still arguing about birth control. Forget same sex marriage in this century.
