Hey Everyone,

I have CN 2015OC000011**

I'm still trying to get my head around what is a 'high' or 'low' case number as I'm not really familiar with the scale of CN's.

I suppose that means I'll interview in June next year (if 2014DV Bulletin is anything to go by) but I'm not sure what that means in terms of my chances of interviewing.

I have read so many different things on this website it's confused me more!

Any help would be great :)

Hi Brooklin,

June next year is a good guess for when your interview is likely to be. You can be almost sure that you will get an interview with that case number. Mine is 21xx so you are fairly high up the list.

As long as you pass the interview, with all your documents in order, you should get a green card in June. If you don't get it immediately, you have quite a while before the deadline to get the visa on September 30th 2015 to sort out any extra documents you need. After September 30th, no visas for DV 2015 can be issued. However, if you get an outright denial you will not get the visa.

Hey Guys,

I was lucky enough to get selected in the lottery also. My case number is OC17XX.

Through research and many forums the best I can work out is that when the status goes 'current' they will get through as many as possible but still not everyone will get an interview. According to these links, I believe OC1638 was the highest number to get an opportunity in the DV2013:

Could anyone confirm this? (i.e. does anyone know of a winning number above this?)

I interpreted that as indicating that in 2013 there were few case numbers above 1600. That's why there are few visas issued above 1600 even though the region went current for all numbers in September 2013.

Here's a spreadsheet for the 2013 DV you can check out the OC tab to see how the last months ended up in 2013.

The data was extracted for the CEAC website. Please note that it is missing AOS applications.

Thanks, that makes more sense.

So going off the last few years, and judging by the current position of the 2014DV, it seems that you really need a case number below 1300 to be 100% realistic chance of being granted an interview.

I'm just trying to remain hopeful as my number appears high, but how many OC case numbers would there be each year? And if anyone knows of a high number being chosen in the past?

I'd assume status date is most slightly the 2nd interview date?

It was Mother's Day last year when my husband and I checked our DV2014 entry and found out I was selected with a number in the 2800s.

Today my husband and I checked for DV2015 and my husband has been selected! This time with a much lower number- 700s.

It feels very very different this time. We lived with the last result as a secret to everybody- no use telling anyone until it was likely to happen- but this time we know we really have a story to tell. It's also frankly nuts that we have been given multiple chances to move from our stable first world life to take the risk and try for our first world dreams when you hear so many desperate stories (still gonna grab the opportunity with both hands).

The thought of another year of those damn visa bulletins exhausts me.

But this time, rather than living in limbo- saving for the possibility, not making any large purchases because of the possibility, thinking about life and career choices not knowing- we're looking at probabilities. And that's a whole new ball game.

Hey everyone, so happy to have found this thread, I've been stressing out like crazy!

I think I've got a low CN 1xx, still trying to work out what to do as I have I have a long term partner here in AUS. He says I have to go for it, but so hard to think about leaving him behind? And from what I've read it could take years to get him in on my GC. Decisions! I didn't actually think if get selected, it's my first year applying. Just getting all my paperwork together in between trying to remain sane, let's hope it all goes well!
