If you're going to post to a discussion forum, expect some discussion to take place. The OP didn't post this to discuss. It was to bash muslims. Period. This the 4th time he's done this, because this is the 4th time I've debunked his silly claim that muslims remained silent on the subject. This thread is on page 7, and not a peep. No, my bad or sorry about my mistake. There's no learning to be had here, their minds were made up a long time ago. And as your sig suggests, even with a mountain of proof, they still won't believe it.

My religion, my race, and even my character is questioned here daily. Some of these threads are started because of me. Yet, I will always be willing to engage anyone in an intelligent debate. Even though those same people wouldn't afford me the same courtesy.

I was not responding to the original poster nor do i care about his/her politics. I responded directly to something you said and gave you my thoughts on religion in general and Islam specifically. You responded by telling me that as soon as every problem in the US was fixed you would feel obliged to take up Muslim issues.. I can promise you if the topic is about a specific US issue I will not flip it into a religious or some other base issue.

If the OP wanted to have an intelligent debate, he could have left out the comment about Muslims. But, the entire point was to inflame Islam. This thread was created twice. The first time, Islam's involvement was highlighted in red. To make sure you knew who to blame. And this is common for those posters. It's never, let's talk about it so we can reach some sort of mutual view. It's I hate you and your kind. And they want to make sure you're fully aware of it. How can you debate something when the definitive answer is already put out in the first post?

My favorite was, let's start water boarding the officials. The execution that went wrong? Let's go back to public hanging. One said, rack em and stack em. In fact, G actually said, just admit it, you want to kill and torture people.

Although the NB hates it, part of any political discussion must set an all things being equal tone before an opinion can be considered. How can I take someone serious about a subject like this when they would advocate a nearly identical religion be the law of the land here? Like Christianity could not be perverted into this type of filth. Is the root cause to what's happening in Nigeria the teachings of Muhammad or the folks that use it to further their power? From my perspective, lawlessness due to many many many factors including the continual destabilization of the African continent by the major powers of the world, a particularly unsuitable and harsh climate for humans to develop self sustaining societies, ignorance/hate/poverty/squalor exploited by those that seek to control obedience and inspire hope through religious doctrine and hate. Organization or armies in many cases needs nothing more than a common enemy for which all strife can be blamed. In this case, a person has used Islam as a rally cry against Christians.

I have seen marriages between American men and Filipinas that were near perfect marriages - I met one of them here on VJ. But I have also seen marriages where the American man treated his wife like property; but, of course, only when she arrived in the US. Obviously, not every man wants to control his wife, but it isn't honest to pretend that there are men like that out there.

If there is to be intelligent debate then we have to acknowledge both types of marriages.

Ask people what they think should be done to rapists and child molesters. Those who want the most violent punishment tend to be those who have issues with the barbaric punishment you described earlier.
