& it's also the Militant groups...they utilize the media to become the Cult....They want the tag.

I'm not sure they use the media as we know it to radicalize in places like Nigeria. But they def use religion which is super effective when forming cults.

I also find it funny that conservative Christians have the disconnect of blaming Islam for radical killings but not blaming a gun for killing someone. They're both tools really. Religion and guns, when mishandled, are quite capable of leading one person to kill another.

While you are 100% correct, it is clear that the purpose of this thread is to indict the religion of these criminals rather than their acts. These people are a threat not because of their religion, even if they claim so. They do not represent any particular religion. In fact, they do not represent anyone but themselves.

All we need do it look at history and realize the greatest atrocities in the western world were carried out in the name of one god or another.

We should not be distracted by their religion and take solace in that others religions do the same, on the contrary we should indict them all.

Yes, but despite the fact that the OP clearly has an agenda, engaging him will do no good, as he has proven to be hard-headed and unwilling to listen.

I think it's better to ignore people who obviously are only interested in furthering their own diseased opinions, and discuss the real issue at hand, the kidnapping of these school girls.

I understand the frustration, but I also don't think the simple argument that "all people do bad things sometimes" is helpful. Boko Haram uses Islam, however skewed, to carry out attacks on what they perceive as Western interests or institutions. Their own name means that Western education is Islamically forbidden.

This obviously doesn't mean that all Muslims are like this, but really, that should go without saying.

I suppose the general public can't understand the difference, which is a shame.

Because Islam will grab headlines. If this was done in the name of Christianity, there would be little outrage. This is why a Muslim will never be able to just be a killer. If I went on a killing spree today, Islam will be blamed, automatically.

To drive a point home, the last shooting in Fort Hood wasn't connected to Islam. But, there was an article that said the day before some Muslim dude had gotten into trouble, so it HAD to be him. Turned out it wasn't.

Take FSA...for example...?

Now see....this is near my target.

It's not just the Christians....it's the media...it's world govs...it's political figures world wide.....etc.

9/11 put it on the map and it's stained there permanently.

Most can't, which is sad in any case. Take a look at the responses here.

I think the image began developing way before. Islamic Fundamentalist Militants are the foster children of US/UK "intelligence"...go figure.

I know, but trying to teach some people here will not help.

And I believe that on a larger scale, simply saying that "other religions have done bad stuff too" will not remove the stain either.

For sure. Is that really "media" though. I think of media in the context to US mass media. I guess radical "flyers" or websites would count as media.

Even with the USS Cole bombing, folks here at least weren't so bad about it. I was in DC when it all went down. I saw how anyone who couldn't be identified as black, white, hispanic, or asian got treated.

I get it, just pisses me off that they come here with this ####### with no intention of actually learning anything. They just want to hate. And they call me an animal.

It certainly is maddening. I find it very maddening that this site is used to promote all sorts of hateful agendas.

I don't know, does the internet give the margins of society more voice and misrepresent their strength?

Man, most of the time I really hope so. There's also tons of people that care nothing for anything outside their bubble.

First time I saw that movie (was VHS with some friends) - I dropped 2 pb 30 minutes before & had no idea what the movie was going to be about....I never laughed that hard ever before......

I'm not sure - if I could go back in time - would I kick my young azz or relive it exactly the same but wow...it sure was a good trip that time. (but) Those days are long passed and I'm okay with that...for the most part....lol
