When you need to provide more evidence or documents you are given the 221g with instructions and a time-frame to return such documents.

AP can happen after a successful interview when they say you are approved. Or they may approved pending AP. The AP is outside of you providing anything its their further investigation and checking they have to do.

Hope this helps I know others will be more in-depth and better explaining. Sorry.

I think in general is the same "administrative procedures" is a lot of different things... If they are making a background check, if they are waiting or reviewing documents, if they are wirking more in your case... The only difference I see is that sometimes you are "approved" but they need you send one thing and it could be something fast until is ready or if is some other thing like checking background or if they have doubts on your case can take a lot more...

I love you Charles forever!!

So true, AP is painful waiting without knowing anything about the case. People in most cases are put in AP even if CO at the interview says ooo don't worry we will let you know about your case... And when you try to call or email them the answer is the same for all . I think they must give more explaination in any case monthly or weekly. It is owr right to know what is going to happen with this petition. Thank you all for writing!

You are so right i have been in AP for 48 days now and i hate the fact that they dont tell us anything about our case. It is the most frustrating thing i have ever gone through. I email i call and nothing its horrible that our lives and future depends on someone sitting at a desk??
