How long does it generally take to get a K-3 through the US embassy in Cairo? Providing of course that I have all the paperwork ready and available.

My fiance is from Sudan and we are planning on getting married there this summer. To apply for the visa we are required to go to Cairo. Any info and tips would be tremendously appreciated.

Is there another option as far as embassies go? Cairo isn't the most efficient.

I filed the K3 in March, husband had his interview just last month, we're now awaiting Admin. processing. So it's been nearly 10 months so far since the beginning.

I don't think that I have another option. Cairo processes all Sudanese nationals. It isn't done in Khartoum.

What was the delay with you guys? Was it something on your end or was it the embassy? I would love to know what to avoid and what to do.

It's purely the embassy/USCIS. Our case is not unusual. I'm sure others who have dealt with Cairo can confirm this also.

This is very true. A woman most likely wouldn't have much of a wait post interview.

women typically have a much easier time through Cairo, not to mention a christian woman.

Does having a good education/profession help at all in the application process? She is a medical doctor.

Isaac

assuming you mean help in the process = limiting red flags

there are things that are more important than that in this process (ie: speaking a common language, etc)
