Well I returned my RFE last week, and according to USPS it was delivered to the PO box on Saturday. I haven't heard anything from USCIS, my case status hasn't changed, etc. For those who have received an RFE, how long did it take to get some sort of confirmation (emailed or mailed) that it was received/processed? Just curious to know what's "normal", or what everyone else's experience has been.

Well, the first time I sent back my RFE, I heard nothing. Just crickets. I didn't bother putting delivery confirmation on it that time. Big mistake! Things don't usually get lost in the mail, but it presumably did.

So I sent it again. That time, I heard back in a couple of days.

The good news is, you know your case made it to the office. The bad news is, you don't know where it is in the office. I'd give it a couple of weeks at least -- I can't imagine anyone will look into it for you before then.

Conditions Removed! Ten-year green card received 6/24/2009. No more USCIS for a very long time.

devilette, I've been looking at your sig and meaning to ask, it says on the 3rd it was received by USCIS, how do you know that, did they email you/update your status, or was that something you know from USPS?

Sarah, hopefully you'll get some good news soon!

It was actually 'received' on 12 27 but the uscis did not 'receive' it til 1/3.

They emailed me! And it updated on uscis.gov.

They will send you an email that says "On January xx we have received your response to our request for evidence" etc. etc. :)

It took them a week to realize that my RFE had made it to their office, so it takes a while :) Be patient and good luck!

Yes, even though USPS delivers it to USCIS, it takes them a few days to acknowledge receipt. It sucks, but there's nothing you can do but hope and pray they send you an email confirming receipt.

It's not so much impatience as it is that I come from a long line of worriers. So I find myself worrying that it got put in the wrong PO box, or somehow got lost on the way to the office, or any number of silly things. Maybe next week :)
