My husband has been in the States for about a month. When we applied for his Social Security Card we found out that his name was incorrect on his Visa. (How they let him travel with his name not matching exactly as on his passport we will never know) We notified USCIS that his name was not put in the correct order on his Visa in the hopes that they would fix it before issuing his Green Card. Made an appointment to our local USCIS application support center and confirmed that they did have his name incorrect, although everything I had filed up to that point was correct, since the embassy put his name in wrong that is what is now in the system for everything. The IO advised us to call USCIS and speak to a supervisor and explain the issue because the green card had not yet been generated. After doing what was advised we thought the issue was resolved.... The other day I received an email from USCIS saying they denied our request and that we could file a I-90 which would cost over $400 and it wasn't even our mistake!! :protest:

Has anyone experienced a similar issue and was able to resolve it!! We have paid enough money through this process that it is ridiculous that we would have to pay to fix a problem that we did not cause!!! :ranting:

My husband did not know that it was wrong!! In his country his name is written last, middle, then first. So to him seeing his name first, last, then middle it didnt seem odd to him. For him he was looking for errors. There wasnt a place on their for middle name so it didnt seem like his name was wrong.
